The Prophet (Pocket Classics)

One of my favorite books
One of my favorite books. It is small and simple, but the discussions and wording reaches me so extremely deeply at times. The writing style might be a little flowery/superficial sounding for some...but come on, you're buying a book called "the Prophet." It's one of the 10-15 books that legitimately influenced my views on life.

That others may find enlightenment
the classic story of a wise man leaving his best thinking before leaving; not unlike the request Lao-tzu rec'd when he was about to cross the frontier into the wilderness, he wrote the Tao Te Ching.

Must read
Beautiful experience reading this and trying to interpret the depth the words ran with. Take notes extensively. I believe they'll come in handy when you inevitably find yourself wishing to read this book again.

Fascinating dilemmas
Two chapters stood out โcrime and punishmentโ and the final treatise on living in the vibrant now and forever promise.

Must read for all ๐
The fingerprint pocket classic edition is really beautiful & budget friendly but I have some trouble with the binding of the book. It is really difficult to open this book & keep it open. Also the font size is eye straining which makes it difficult to read..This book is about a prophet Almustafa who has lived in the city of orphalese for 12 years & is about to board a ship which will carry him to his home. He is stopped by the city people who requests him to tell them about life, death & the human conditions. So he discusses these topics with the people ๐ช๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ๐จโ๐จโ๐งโ๐ฆ.This book is divided into chapters dealing with love, marriage, children, giving, eating & drinking, work, joy & sorrow, houses, clothes, buying & selling, crime & punishment, laws, freedom, reason & passion, pain, self-knowledge, teaching, friendship, talking, time, good & evil, prayer, pleasure, beauty, religion and death ๐.This book is really inspirational, philosophical & spiritual. It teaches about different aspects of life in a different way. In a way that I've never thought about these conditions. This book gives all the answers of how life should be & how we can transform ourselves in a better version of ourself. This book doesn't preach. It doesn't lecture. It is really short & the concepts are to the point. The title completely goes with the book. The language is not too simple but it is neither too complex that cannot be understood. But it is very important to understand each & every word coz every word is important to understand the poem properly. Now to understand this book completely it is very important to read it slowly & thoroughly & by understanding each & every word.

Must Buy!
One should definitely buy this text and that also from the same publisher. This Fingerprint publishing texts have become one of my favorite publishers. While other publications charge you for big pages and cover page cost, this publication have done it's best to provide the readers the best experience.Handy book with perfect presentation on the pages by the publishers. I would appreciate if the publishers take my review seriously and publish more upcoming and classic novels.

A great depth reality spoken directly from the silence inside all of us.
Just awesome book, but needs to be read again and again to get deep into the real meaning of the context. Absolutely beautiful phrases written by Khalil Gibran, specially on love. Recommended for all the poetic and literature lovers.
