Rovner Ligature & Plastic Cap for Bb Clarinet - Versa X Ligature for Hard Rubber Mouthpiece (X-1R)

This is the best ligature value on the market today. It produces a typical dark, Rovner sound, while the metal plates add a pleasing spin and help with altissimo intonation. Other ligatures on the market with similar technology will cost two to three times as much.

The metal cradle is the exact with of a reed. Using this ligature with the cradle uncovered, the cradle is juuust big enough to sit on the reed. It takes a bit of positioning to keep it centered on the reed without the edges falling off one side or the other while tightening the thumbscrew. Covered, there is enough webbing to eliminate the balancing act needed to get it on the reed correctly.IMO, If the cradle was even 1/8" wider, it would make it easier to place (cradle exposed).

I did not like the exposed, curved metal plates. Found quite a difference between this and mt old Eddie Daniels Rovner.

The Versa X is the best ligature I've ever played. It's dark, round and powerful and gives me strong focus to project when needed. Simply the best!
