Excellent product, Excellent after-sales service!
After spending many hours on line comparing wifi outdoor cameras I opted for the Moobox offering, but was still slightly doubtful since the cost seemed too good to be true for such a wide range of features. I shouldn’t have worried as it’s turned out to be remarkably good value with high quality video, reliable wifi and a much, much longer battery life than I expected.I use it to monitor my long driveway, but after doing some testing I’m now about to order another camera for a much sadder purpose - to alert me if my wife, who has Alzheimer’s disease, strays out of her room in the middle of the night (or even elsewhere during the day!). The night vision is good enough, the movement sensitivity adjustable and the simplicity of the magnetic mount makes installation easy.I had initial difficulties connecting the hub to my Apple Airport Extreme wifi base station, but after some really fast and impressive help from the Moobox tech support team, we found that the hub was being confused by other Airport Express satellite base stations on the mac network. As soon as these were temporarily disabled connection was immediate and surprisingly, the hub has better range than my other devices. All in all, I’ve found the camera/hub and its free cloud storage amazing value and which puts it’s grossly over-priced direct competitors to shame. Great product, great price!

A great alternative to Arlo, Ring etc
Cost was a main factor for me, I couldn't justify the cost of the £800 Arlo system (plus the unsightly oversized hub) or £200 each on the Ring spotlights (to go with my Ring doorbell plus the added plan extra cost). I came across the MooBox on Amazon & I thought for the cost of £90 per 1080p outdoor camera (I bought 3) + £120 for cam & hub starter pack, it was a great price & was so similar Arlo (minus the siren). The cameras are of great quality in both build & resolution; much better than my old, cheap, Chinese UI wi-fi cameras with 8GB internal storage. The infra-red was much better on my old cameras but they were bigger LEDs surrounding the camera sensor which enhanced the picture quality over my garden. I have since ordered a generic £6 infra-red LED to see if this improves the distance/quality.The cameras came well packaged, similar packaging to an iPhone & the instructions fairly easy to follow (10 mins for me to set up the hub & 4 cameras). Fortunately I already had a 4 port USB charger which made charging all cameras at once a breeze & were done within a couple of hours. The magnetic mount system is great but would advise the proper mounts for both security & better placement.I spoke to the seller & an app update is on its way (Jan '19) to silence the notifications between certain hours (like Ring does) as the constant movement notifications are very annoying so had to completely disable them in the iPhone settings. The camera uses a PIR sensor to detect heat/motion, unlike Ring which uses image change protocols, so not ideal when pointed at constant traffic areas, like mine was initially pointed at the road in-front of my house so every 30seconds a car would go up/down & the camera would record & notify me, thus draining the battery. Two way talk/listen works great but not a necessity for me.I cannot report on battery life as I have only had it a few days but I did lose 15% battery on the first day as I had the camera facing the road so was recording clips every 30 seconds for a few hours so I had to reposition it. The other 3 cameras which have recorded only a few motion clips & some live viewing by myself are sitting at around 100% - 95% after a few days. The hub is nice & small, about the size of a Now TV box, which is great as it sits out of the way & can be used via ethernet or Wifi (also acts as a wifi extender). 16GB is ok as the cameras only record motion clips & not 24/7 plus the free 7 days cloud storage is handy.. & free. The picture quality is great, 3 choices when live viewing: SD, HD & FHD. There is hardly any lag on the live stream (SD) & the push notifications are only a few seconds behind, so fairly prompt. The range seems good also, my house is a 100 year old solid stone wall house & I have 3 cameras situated at the front, back & gable end as well as 1 in the tiered garden & all connect to the hub (I'm using ethernet) perfectly.4 cameras is the max limit for 1 hub so if I got a 5th camera I'd need the hub/camera starter pack again but £30 is the difference in cost so not an issue really.Overall for the money, a great quality product, very helpful admin staff & I'm very happy with the product but, in my opinion it just needs:1. In-app snooze notifications between certain hours (per camera)2. In-app recording schedules i.e record between certain hours only so if high traffic 9am - 5pm, record 5pm onwards through the night3. In-app ability to filter between video clips (i.e I have 4 cameras & all clips show in time order in 1 long list & would be good to filter between per camera)4. The ability to bulk delete the cloud saved clips (like you can do with the hub storage ones)5. Ideally motion zones/sensitivity (but apparently not do-able with PIR sensor)6. Improved infra-red7. App does the job but for me (iPhone 6s) & the Mrs (iPhone 5s) it crashes a fair bit when navigating through8. A siren, like Ring & Arlo, would have been great

Simple to install and use
I wanted a simple wire free CCTV system that allows remote access and viewing. Looked at the systems from Ring and Arla, but they were quite expensive and had variable reviews so gave this a go instead. Was reasonably easy to set up within a few minutes. Took a bit of trial and error to find the best position both for camera coverage and for WiFi signal. I have some issues with WiFi coverage due to property size and construction so cameras can’t be placed too far from hub but are adequate. Positioning the hub on its side improves coverage (tip in FAQs). Recent updates have added some flexibility over sensor and clip length which are useful. Cameras look very smart and battery life seems reasonable at this stage and very easy to recharge. Battery life will be influenced by number of times sensor is triggered, use at night (IR uses more power) and how often you log in for live views. Probably best to position camera so you don’t get passing pedestrians etc setting it off so may not be soo good near a busy road as you’ll get constant alerts, but careful positioning may solve that. Field of view is very wide so easy to cover a good area with one camera. These are not suitable for continuous monitoring but great for capturing a clip of visitors to property- so far only welcome ones, but the unwelcome ones would be quickly spotted and the alerts are useful. My phone is set to silence alerts overnight so I’m not woken by prowling cats. Usually I disarm motion detection once home, but can leave front camera armed to catch visitors if in garden. Ideas for an update would be to link with Alexa and automatically arm / disarm motion sensors on arrival or leaving, or have option of one button on the app to turn all cameras on or off rather than do individually, but otherwise excellent and great value for money . I had one issue when hub went offline but support was excellent. I have 2 cameras which cover main access areas at front and rear of property, but now that I know they work well I will be buying more cameras to increase coverage and ensure there are no missed spots. I would have thought that 4 cameras on one hub should cover most properties, but more hubs can be added if required.
