When the O-Ring removed, this collar looks like a simple choker. This collar secures with a small hex screw that is integrated into the locking tab on the side opposite of the hinge. The collar locks when the hex screw is screwed into a small grove on the lower portion of the locking tab, thereby preventing the collar from opening. The collar can be removed by giving the screw 1-2 turns with the included hex key. Please do not fully remove the hex screw, as re-inserting it can be a pain & it can easily be lost if dropped,also we would included an other spare screw in package. Please be extremely careful when closing the collar. The hinge has the potential to pinch as you are closing the collar. Actual internal diameter may vary by ~2mm (smaller or larger), as these are made by hand. Quality metal collar - both inside and outside of the bedroom.
My objective was to purchase a quality, metal collar that's discreet in public but also practical in private, hence the gold-plating and removable ring.The one downside is that I wish the ring were fully gold-plated. If you look carefully in my photo, you'll notice that there's a small spot that wasn't covered... I'm OCD. But aside from that minor blip, I'm absolutely in love with (and highly appreciate) the product features: (1) the collar is specified as IP-plated to be a little more durable, (2) the ring slides than screws on/off since the latter leaves a noticeable hole, (3) the hex-screw locking mechanism is better than the magnetic ones I've seen, (4) the main "key" can be threaded as a necklace, and (5) spare screws and a spare "key" are included, as well as a velvet pouch for the collar.The listed product measurements are very helpful and accurate. The tip for not-fully removing the screw is very helpful too.

Beautiful
Fit great, heavy but it feels nice very smooth on the inside and the outside. I love that the O-ring is removable as I don't like wearing it most of the time. Sturdy and the screw mechanism that keeps it together works just fine. The gold is high luster and a very pretty. All around really pleased.

Cool but it rattles
Very substantial. Love it except for one thing. As you can't really tighten a steel screw, the collar will rattle itself open in about three days. I'd put a drop of superglue in except for me it is jewelry, not a sentence. Any non permanent suggestions?
