Mafia Princess

I got the book by accident! I was looking at another book & some how purchased this one..kind of glad it worked out that way LoL this book was awesome! I originally read the sample & wasn't impressed, but after purchasing it by mistake I gave it a shot. Life truly does work in mysterious ways because this book was full of twists & turns & life working I mysterious ways for Semaj, the main character. I was totally floored by this book because it's not your average hood novel! It wasn't bogged down with money, sex & drugs. This was a true mafia book..I've read a few books that portrayed the mafia but NONE like this!! The gun play portrayed was surreal, the intertwining of all the characters life was crazy & it all made for a great read. There was so much going on but it all flowed together & it all made sense. This book was well written, the plot was solid and the errors were minimal & if it wasnt..well that's how wrapped up I was I the story!! It was a pleasant twist on romance & a crazy way of showing what's done in the dark always comes to light. Don't be put off that it started slow because it definitely picked up!

This is the first novel I've read by Michelle Monay but it certainly won't be the last. Mafia Princess, draws you in from the first line. Monay makes the characters relatable and true. After reading this book you will feel like you know Semaj, Qua, Paris, Tala from around the way!!! You will recognize someone in your life in this book. I would characterize this book as an urban love story. Falling in love can make someone change for the better and leave the past behind, but as always the past can come back to bite you in the a**. The determining factor is how you react next, do you stand strong and face it or do you crumble and succumb to the past. I give this book 5 stars and recommned this book to everyone. You can identify with betrayal, decit, love, family loyalty and drama. You will definitely enjoy the rollercoaster ride, you want love & happiness to win but you know drama is lurking around the corner. You will find your self rooting for Semaj and Qua. I can't wait for part II.

Michelle Monay out did herself in this book.... I absolutely love it ... The storyline was spectacular and very real. I would recommend this book to anyone bc it keeps you hooked from beginning to end I bought the book on sat and finished it that same day lol thats how good it was... Can't wait for part two to be on its way .. Michelle Monay and Joy Deja king are the truth when it comes to great books .... They are excellent writers and I love their work .... Their writing talent is like no other .... They are unique... Michelle Monay keep up the good work I absolutely loved it xoxoxoxo

Well first off I'm not new to this author. I knew she was the truth when I read "Wife"! So if you ain't read that get on it! Ok now on to the review! Not gone put any spoilers but I will say THIS BOOK WAS TO DIE FOR! I had been waiting on this since I first saw that it was coming out! This book defined the phrase "Six degrees of separation"! To see how the author seamlessly intertwined the characters and their lives was poetic! I kept having to pick my jaw up off the floor! I must say that I'm in love with Quasim and someone else (can't say his name cuz then that will spoil it)! I'm telling you people are seriously sleeping on this new breed of authors coming out! To make it even better the author is very down to earth! No I don't know her personally but I follow her on twitter (@MichelleMonayIs is her twitter name)! She responds to all my tweets and she laughs and jokes with me and my homegirl as well! I'm still holding out hope for that shout out in the next book! lol! Anyway back to the book! Be careful who u surround yourself with because all friends ain't what they seem and Semaj may have realized that a little too late! And one last thing I wanna ask yall before I end this review "Does anybody ever die"? Keep this in mind while ya'll are reading this book! *drops the mic and walks off stage* VV (DEUCES)

Used to all the stories about the damsel in distress in the man who finds her, saves her and loves her and lived happily ever after? You won't fine it here! While of course because the book is based on the life of a female, there are parts about her falling in love, but it never deters away from the main juicy plot. Just when you think she's gotten the worse hand dealt to her, she gets a new hand everytime but also a new opponent who is determined to win against the infamous "Mafia Princess". Don't waste time waiting until the end, but part I and II all together so that you can continue the adventure in the life of Semaj Richardson.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a lil' slow starting out to me,but quickly picked up & kept me coompletely drawn in. Semaj is a young girl whose life as a child started out with the loss of her mother. Not long after Semaj loses her father to prison. When Semaj's father finally gets his freedom they come up with a get quick scheme thats sure to keep the paper coming in. Semaj & her father set out to get money by any means necessary,- even if it means using Semaj as a pawn in the process to lure the unsuspected victims into their web of deception,robbery & even murder. This book was fast paced,full of action,murder,deceit,dopeboys & ALL the things you love in Urban fiction filled with street drama. The characters come to life & all our emotions will be going stir crazy. I highy recommend this book if you're looking for an excellent read,that will have you on edge. You WILL NOT be disappointed!

Was not as deep as I would have liked, but was ok for what it was. I am looking forward to the number two, maybe it will go deeper.
