Nature's GateNatural Toothpaste without Fluoride, Cherry Gel, 5 oz (141 g) (Pack of 4)

I'm just noticed that the toothpaste that I got is not the same that is pictured here. The kids love the flavor, there isn't any or much "sud" so they mix it with the other NG toothpaste so they can have that clean feel and taste.

I normally use  Tom's of Maine Natural Care Antiplaque Toothpaste with Baking Soda, Peppermint , 6-Ounce Tubes (Pack of 6) , but decided to purchase this Nature's Gate toothpaste because of the great sale price. I like the cherry flavor, and the ingredients list (which I read before purchasing) is certainly safer than more conventional brands, but COULD BE BETTER! For instance, this toothpaste contains Sodium Flouride (a heavy metal), methylparaben (linked to cancer), and sodium lauryl sulfate. I will use all 4 tubes of this toothpaste because I couldn't pass up the price, but then I'll go back to Tom's of Maine.

Good cherry flavor.

I am shocked that this toothpaste listed for children, contains Benzoic Acid, which has been linked tohyperactivity, ADHD and when in the presence of Vitamin C, can convert to BENZENE, a knownCARCINOGEN. It is a biological fact that the mouth tissues are one of the most absorbable deliverysystems of the human body to get medications into the blood stream. So, what is in a toothpastecan be delivered to the blood stream through the mouth, especially when using it twice a dayevery day, 12 months a year. Do the research!!

This review is more of an alert that the photo and description are for the older version of the product and not the current one. If you like the old one, this is not it. The new formula has no flouride and changed its texture (less thick) and other ingredients. On the plus side, it has more natural ingredients (which is why the Flouride was removed)

Smooth, fruity, taste. For the ones that think mint toothpastes are too strong for them.Flouride-free, that's a plus for me.To brush my teeth I put a dab of this toothpaste and a dab of a mix of coconut oil, baking soda and few drops of tea tree oil, on the same toothbrush head. Balances out a little of the saltiness of the baking soda.

My kids love this toothpaste. The product is actualul the newer version that is free of many harmfull ingredients which is what I really wanted.

The taste wasn't the worst thing I've ever had in my mouth, but the consistency was awful. We had to use 3x the amount of paste or it would simply disappear and you're left brushing your teeth with your own saliva. It was sickly sweet and often made me cough while brushing, something about it tickled my throat. For the amount you had to use to feel clean, it was way, way too expensive. The three of use decided we hated it pretty quickly.
