Peter Spier's Circus (A Picture Yearling Book) Paperback – Picture Book, May 1, 1995

Peter Spier is one of my favorites. I love his books. The illustrations are so detailed. You could look at every page 20 times over And see something new every single time. It takes any reader old or young to the circus. This book is one of his best in my opinion.

This is a beautiful book. I have appreciated Peter Spier since I was young, and now my family can enjoy his work, too.

Peter Spier's books are wonderful and hold children's attention well. I wish more of them were still in print and easier to find. I bought this one for my great nephew, and he absolutely loves it!

The kids had heard of the circus but were amazed to know that the circus used to travel by railway and huge trucks into the cities, and also into rural areas. Then they would parade down main streets (large or smaller) with the clowns and an elephant and horses, and a band to pull the crowd in! We did discuss issues of cruelty to the animals and other reasons that these circuses eventually disappeared. This book shows all the old ways, the tents, and cages, tightropes, clowns, horses, big cats, everything!

Came quickly, in great condition, wonderful seller, fantastic book. Hours of looking-at fun here. We love Peter Spier books.

I love Peter Spier’s work (Rain, People, Noah’s Ark), so was looking forward to this text. I have to say, it’s not nearly as good as my favorite Spier books. The illustrations are good, but the text and story aren’t as interesting as I’d hoped.

The best circus book for kids!

We took our grandchildren to the circus. I purchased this book as a follow up from the outing. It is perfect to reinforce what we saw at the circus and a nice reminder of the memories we made there. The illustrations were very appealing and I was impressed with the content.I bought six different books an this is by far the best! Very informative!GOOD PURCHASE!

This book is great - very informative and spot-on for my 5 year old grandson who is obsessed with circuses and the set-up of them. Big hit as a present!

Ich habe das Buch in Auftrag für meine Mutter bestellt. Gleich zweimal. Die Beschenkte und meine Mutter sind begeistert von dem Buch. Es steckt so viel Liebe im Detail, ein Genuss es anzuschauen. Nicht nur für Kinder. Was zu beachten ist, das Buch ist in Englisch geschrieben.

Once again, another delightful book by Peter Spiers, I never seem to get enough of his drawings and paintings. My wish is that I could paint and draw as he does. The book arrived on time and in excellent condition.

Intricately illustrated. I used this story as part of the International Primary Curriculum to teach how circuses travel and what goes on behind the scenes to Children aged 5-6.
