Exactly what they promise
I’m very impressed with these canvases. In the photo, the top canvas is your standard canvas from Michaels that I prepped with gesso and several layers of absorbent ground to try to use it for watercolor- the bottom canvas is this Phoenix canvas with zero primer. I was skeptical when ordering these, and when you first are painting the watercolor it doesn’t look great but once the layer drys it’s fine. Will definitely be buying again!

Good price, works just like a watercolor canvas
I do like these canvas and will likely buy more in the future due to the price and overall quality, though they did take a bit longer than other watercolor canvas for the paint to soak in. I primarily paint in watercolor and have used a multitude of canvas from various websites. I took a risk with the Amazon one and was not disappointed. It works as expected. You can buy some sawtooth hooks to screw to the back in order to hang it on a wall.

Eh for watercolor yay for acrylic
So I bought these canvasses to use for gouache but it sucked for that. Ended up using them for acrylic and they worked great. Definitely NOT for water based paints. Just bubbles up.

I'm Happy With This Purchase
I'm glad I slipped up and didn't read any reviews about this product or I probably would not have purchased. After I ordered it (and it had already shipped) I came back and read a few. They talked about how the canvas doesn't absorb the paint, even showed pictures of it beading up on the surface, so, of course, I believe them, have no reason to doubt them. However, my experience is totally different so maybe it's the kind/quality of watercolor paint used???? I use Winsor Newton and the canvas accepts this paint beautifully. I can't wait to paint all four of them. If there is shrinkage, I'll be disappointed, but for now, I'm very pleased.

With proper prep this surface is excellent to paint on.
This is a painting in process.....It is necessary to spray and wipe the surface with rubbing alcohol before attempting to paint with watercolor. The light spray helps to clean/open the surface so that the watercolor does not bead up.This canvas is very much like Watercolor paper but the color seems brighter as the canvas doesn't seem to absorb quite so much.I highly recommend this product. When done, you can spray with a Acrylic varnish so as to eliminate the need for glass.

Waterproof Ink won’t stick slow to absorb water.
Ok for watercolor only so far . But not for line washes over ink ….smudges.
