You will marvel at the souls who graced Isadora‘s life
Isadora bravely and dramatically expresses and shares her life in a way that allows one too contemplate the profound heartwarming and heart wrenching experiences in one’s own life. Her story is relatable for anyone who has dealt with extreme adversity. She was a bright light and a soulful spirit who expressed the depths of her preciousness albeit imperfectly. Listen not to the hard hearted comments, this book is filled with a mystical and pure love for humanity, and the light. Enjoy the journey as she contemplates Longfellow, Zarathustra, Pallas Athena, Saint Francis, all the great conductors and musicians of her time while tender heartedly fulfilling her most gallant mission, seeing her dream realized - dance schools for children.

Original unrevised way better.
I was already very familiar with Isadora and her life and work, and had read her autobiography many times before and so was very disappointed with the review/intro at beginning of this one that was added to this revised autobiography. I would recommend the original autobiography over this one.. I was not at all interested in the added interpretation of the author's autobiography which speaks more than well enough for itself. Her opinions about Isadora and other people's views of her , even if correctly represented which i did not think for the most part were...though in some partst were (and according to many more superficial views who might agree with her description of Isadora) but not to those who are more deeply connected to what Isadora was really about and really accomplished, that many do not get and so they put her in a box of being a kind of person she was not (as happens with other famous or known performers/artists who are misunderstood for who they really are and what really stand for and are expressing, when other people speak FOR them about them).... So this additional summarized critique or review of Isadora and her life (updated/revised) was to me less than worthy of reading especially before reading Isadora's own story first. I would read the Isadora Duncan "My Life" in her original form and that one i would give a five star, and only a 3 star for this one, only because of the added intro i didn't like at all and believe it influences the reader to a certain outlook before they get to have their own. If you get this one, just skip the intro and read it after you read the rest and see what you think then.

Still a Fascinating Read
Initially, read this years ago. Lost that copy, and finally replaced it for my library. A truly fascinating look at a world long gone by, written by one of the greatest free spirits of all time!

Engrossing and emotional reading
Phenomenal book! Isadora Duncan lived an amazing life, although at times tragic. She left a legacy that as time goes on needs to be protected and remembered. I read Mercedes Duncan's Here Lies the Heart prior to this book. I've felt transported to a magical world through both books. I highly recommend reading them both.

The Magic of Dance
Tragically Isadora Duncan was killed in a freak accident before her memoir was published. But fortunately the first draft was completed. And now with the content restored that was censored when the autobiography was published we get an in-depth understanding of who this pioneer of ancient and modern dance really was!!!

it's just sad...
I love Isadora's work, she was a true genius, but it's really sad to read about her life like that. She was an amazing woman, way ahead of her time, and she paid a high price for it. All the suffering made her bitter at the end of her life, and it shows at her autobiography in a not very flattering way. Maybe it's better to read another person talking about all her great accomplishments.

This book arrived within days and in new condition despite the fact that the listing stated it was used. They even included a thoughtful disclaimer slip of paper in there stating if they overlooked any damage to please let them know.

Excellent!
Isadora Duncan is easily one THE iconic figure sof the 20th century. This revised and updated edition of her work, which doesn't pull many punches, is always refreshing in its raw honesty. And if you love dance, too? Touchdown!!!!

Interesting!
Isadora certainly did everything her way in life. But she did introduce a new way of dancing that was considered shocking by many & innovative by others. I was disappointed that there wasn't a page at the end to explain how she died.

No pictures
The headline says it all. Without pictures the story is flat. She may have been able to dance, but she could not write.
