This pair of tongs is beautiful and I don't think they're gonna fall apart. They feel very solidly made. That's about the only good thing that I have to say about them though. They're so solidly made in fact, that you have to put real effort into closing them. I made chicken nuggets (fried) the first time that I used them and my thumb was cramping up by the time I was done. Also, these are gonna chew up and spit out any kind of nonstick coating that may be on your pans. Fair warning. I think I'm gonna use them as serving tongs because they're so pretty though. I think they'll be good in that regard.

Lots of resistance and harder to pick up things than regular tongs.

I've used various sets of tongs for various tasks. But these are definitely my favorite. For one, the metal is nice and thick, so it won't bend easily. I also like how one side is solid but the other side is slotted to allow any liquids to not be transferred. They also grip just about anything and do it very well. Try them. You'll LOVE them!
