Great detangler for my daughter. After using different one for over a year, I changed to this one and definite won’t go back. Smell is pretty good too. Makes it so easy and smooth to get through a kid’s hair without worrying about pulling/hurting.

This works well on baby hair since that's still very fine, and for children or adults with finer, straighter hair, but it's less effective on children or adults with thick, curly, or coarse hair. If you use a very large amount of it, it can still detangle thick coarse and tangled hair, but be aware that it does have quinoa protein, so if you use too much of it, you could end up with dry hair that breaks off. My suggestion is that if you are detangling thick or coarse hair, to simply first apply a conditioning detangler for a little added hydration and slip, and then this for protein balance and strength. The scent is heavenly!

We have been using this for *years* and it’s become a staple in our morning hair routine because it makes brushing so much easier while still feeling gentle and lightweight on hair. My kids have very sensitive scalps so any pulling is an instant NO! I’m really particular about ingredients and this passes my inspection 🌿 Pros: the spray detangles quickly without leaving hair greasy or heavy, the lavender scent is soft and calming (not overpowering), and it works well on both wet and dry hair while adding a nice natural shine. Cons: the scent may not be ideal for those who prefer completely fragrance-free products (sensory) and you may need a few extra sprays for very thick or long hair. Also the spray part of the bottle is a little hard for small fingers so we put it into our own spray bottle! Mom Tip: spray lightly as little goes along way, and sometimes the kiddos use too much and their hair is wet for school, this can be cold in the winter months! Have fine very curly hair and use this as a finishing spray. It adds just enough moisture and very light oil to revitalize curls. Works just as well on dry hair, also seems to add a little volume and texture. Not just for babies!! Smells great and like that it is natural ingredients and cruelty free.

My baby is mixed (black and Mexican) and I've been looking for a cleaner, non-toxic option for her curly hair. There's not of safe options curly/coarse hair, so I was so excited when I found this! It's great! I use it everyday to detangle her hair, it keeps her curls in place but doesn't make her hair crunchy. I also have the leave in conditioner, but I use this more. I've recommended it multiple friends!

Zero detangling abilities. I don’t know how this product has positive reviews. There’s no moisturizing if you read the ingredients it’s just scents and water.

an absolute god send for this eof us with fussy toddlers with tricky hair and curls ! .... its very gentle and doesn't upset my daughter's delicate skin..Just a shame its so expensive - although it does go further than you may think ..

i am a little obsessed with avoiding harmful products for my 2 year old, so i love california baby. however, this does not do much for her curly hair, which is not that curly or that thick. also, the next day it makes her hair smell a wee bit musty. in fairness, CB have another product for curly hair, which i had not seen when i ordered this.
