Garlic Press,Smaier Stainless Steel Garlic Press, Crusher, Mincer - Heavy Large Handles

I really liked this press, I used it for both Garlic and Ginger, however this last month we noticed a small hairline fracture and this has grown and grown. This press has only been used for fresh Garlic and Ginger and I can say now that after 3.5 Years of use it has now broken. The cage has split which means it no longer can press effectively. All other parts work fine.

Nifty gadget. Arrived the day after ordering; posted through the letter box in a cardboard envelope. Bought to replace my old one which was discolouring the garlic as it came though (metal residue? not healthy, methinks!). No such problem with this one & you can put lots in at once. The shape of the clever little movable press part makes sure that almost all the garlic gets pressed through. Nice chunky handles. Feels solid.

This may work well though Ive not tried it yet but is VERY heavy. Nice and shiny but a little rough at the grill part. If you have a large strong hand I would think it would be more comfortable to use.

Stronger than previously owned press reasonably easy to clean

I have been through a few garlic crushers which were not up to the job. So far this one is great, very robust, simple design, crushes the garlic well without bits squeezing out the side. It is made from stainless steel so is easy to clean and dishwasher safe.

Compared to other crushers I have used, I find the design of this one makes it easier to press the garlic through. Hardly any of the clove squeezes up the sides of the disc. Cleans easily and washes well in the dishwasher.

Love this, takes a few trials to figure the best way to use it. My advice would be to leave the skin on the garlic, easier to clean and gets more out of the clove. I haven't tried it with ginger yet.
