Although the boot was air cushioned on the sides, there was no cushioning on the bottom where I needed it.

It's a good walking cast.
I have used several types of boot for a chronic type of injury. I end up comparing all of them to this one. I do recommend purchasing an "evenup" type of shoe riser for your uninjured foot though, because any type of cast boot will eventually hurt your knees and hips.
