Easy installation

Easy replacement install for lamp post. I had to strip the wires longer for my connectors.I wish it came with a larger rubber washer to cover the hole in the post.

There seems to be some sort of problem with the information listed on SPC-688 vs what is being shipped. The photo shows a switch with a round side that would match up with the inside of of a lamp post. The switch I received is flat on all sides and a label on it reads: FOR USE ON A FLAT SURFACE OF A TYPE 4X ENCLOSURE. The information also says the lamp post only needs a 3/8" hole for mounting, the one I received requires a 11/16" hole. The part number on the packaging reads LSPC-688.Performance: Despite some of this conflicting info this photo eye works well. There is a smaller photo that shows the correct dimensions with the photo eye I received. Included was a gasket that fits on the outside of the post and seals water out.

The item is well made and easy to install, directions are fairly straight forward (though if your lamp post doesn't have a grounding wire you may het confused by that part).The light sensor works really well!My only recommendation would be for the manufacturer to provide four (4) screws instead of two (2) ad they're easy to drop and some lamp posts have more holes. ALSO the screws are the hex head type which is fine, but they should also have Philip groves to allow to manual tightening (so you don't strip the metal).

Directions poorly written. After a lot of trial and error and help from friends, we got it to turn on and off as it should. Hope it's weatherproof..time will tell. Price is right and not having to pay a electrician even better

Fits on the pole fine, but in hind sight, I should have gone with timer switch. You would think one Solus product would be designed to fit another Solus product. No, the end that goes into the light is a lot smaller than the opening of the light fixture. Making for a very loose fit for the light.

Works as expected on my porch light.

If you have a "pole" lamp in your yard, and you have to "manually" turn it on and off, this critter is what you need! It's easy to wire to the lamp (make sure the "pole" power is OFF!) and, once you have it oriented (point it "north-ish, away from potential approaching neighborhood car headlamps) and mounted, you're in business.it does fit poles up to 3" in diameter and any pole lamp that fits on the same pole.IMO, it's worth the $$$!
