Thankfully, a great choice!
My husband (who has always been afraid of heights) absolutely loves this lift and it has certainly made my life much easier caring for him. It is well-made and easy to use (even with only one caregiver). Didn't realize when I ordered it that Drive replied to a customer question that it could not be used to lift a patient from the floor. That concerned me since one of the reasons we needed it was for just that purpose. However, when my husband did fall and needed to be lifted from the floor, I was able to do so without any trouble. I did use a sling with long built-in straps and my husband weighs under 150 lbs., but it was effortless. (Possibly the reason Drive stated it wasn't for lifting off the floor is it doesn't lower as far as other lifts and chains and straps might not be long enough to reach the sling.)

Pretty good, but poorly packaged.
The box on my unit was badly damaged and considering the weight of the content, it seems poorly packaged. It looks like most of the content arrived, but I'm not sure. Enough arrived to do what I needed to do tho. There were gaping holes in the box and parts rattling around inside. I would have sent it back except i really needed the lift to move my ill spouse and was desperate. Fortunately it was complete enough to do what I need to do. What i got works great,. I must say. I watched some YouTube videos to learn how to use it before trying it with my patient though. Also good to test operate it with a robust non-patient first to get familiar with safe operation, etc. It seems well made but overpriced at nearly $500 for what's there though. If you need it though, it's a godsend for transferring immobile persons from bed to chair and back. The wheels are pretty tall, so it needs around 8 inches of clearance to fit under a bed, for example. Because the base fans out, it can straddle corners if necessary and furniture. It's pretty big though, so check the measurements versus where you need to use and store it, especially the base. It's also really heavy at 88 pounds. You need to be pretty strong to assemble the two pieces and to move the box around.

Reviewing Drive Silver Vein Hydraulic 6 Point Cradle Lift 5 inch Casters from Amazon LLC
Would Totally Recommend this unit. Purchased this as family member has frequent falls due to progressive neuro issues. He was no longer able to assist with getting up off the floor. He became a "dead weight lift." Not wanting to injure myself further or injure him while trying to get him back to bed. I purchased the above unit, but was hesitant to open and assemble and use. It delivered in a very large box and I was uncertain if I could assemble this alone. Don't be-OPEN immediately! The above unit is super easy to assemble, and durable. Large main pieces came assembled. I was able to lift each piece into the house and assemble. Basically the two large pieces- bottom and top fit into "hole" with a flat set screw to secure. A small stick handle does the same. Super Easy! Two thing: There is a small silver lever- near the hydraulic hand pump-(when standing behind the units horizontal handles) when the lever is at a 3 o'clock position its in a "closed/lift" position this allows you to pump -lifting up your loved one with the boom and transporting them back to bed or chair. When you turn the silver lever towards the 12 o'clock position this "opens/lowers" very gently your loved one down. The unit did not come with the cloth sling I purchased "Drive #13221M" A medium sling with commode hole. (Its plenty big for a 160lb man) I use the cloth straps on sling to secure to the units hooks and have not needed to use the chains supplied with unit. Second thing- I could not figure out how the stabilizer feet spread. The "stick handle" locks/sits in a small slat hole. To spread the bottom bars apart, standing behind the units horizontal handles push the stick handle downward to the right and then rotate it in a clockwise rotation keeping stick handle slightly downward and feet will expand, lock feet by placing stick handle into other side of slat hole when bottom bars are spread. (Also with bottom bars in a closed position I am able to get unit through a 30 inch doorway with a 28 inch clearance due to door being on)

Missing parts
My lift came missing the sling chains. I tried to call but the phone will give you a computer message and disconnect. I emailed twice and no response. I can’t believe a company is that busy. Very disappointed in the fact that I can’t get ahold of anyone to solve this problem. The equipment was easy to assemble, it feels sturdy, have not used it yet so I can’t comment on that. I don’t talk bad about a company unless I have a good reason to.

I does not fit under hospital bed very well.
I purchased this to get my mother walking again however it's not tall enough to have her on her feet. I have to shove it under her hospital bed then struggle to pull it back out. It's frustrating when I got it to make my life easier. It also does not fit under my normal height furniture. Other than that is good for the price and I am certain it would handle the weight it says it can hold.
