Men's 1 Piece Suplex Pinch Front Safari Hat

This is the main hat I wear in the sun. looks and feels good, and good sun protection mainly for ears.

I've had 2 of these hats, the first one my dogs destroyed and I tried other cheaper hats before ordering a second one. Tight enough it doesn't fall off, loose enough it doesn't leave a band mark on your forehead.

I ordered this hat as a light-weight hat for sun protection while playing outdoor sports. My other hats don't breathe as well as this hat; this hat has great air flow. The fit was a bit snug for the large size I ordered.My only real complaint about the hat was that it arrived with the brim very crushed and wrinkled. I had to steam it with and iron several times to make it look presentable.

We love this hat for hot summer days. They are light weight and give good protection from the sun.What I did not like was my package was too small for the hat and it got crushed. I contacted the company to find out how to fix it but they told me to send it back. Instead, I fixed the hat with towel and steam iron.

First bought one in Saratoga, WY years ago and I wore it so much and got so many compliments for it's jaunty look, I figured, I'd have to drive back there and hope to buy another. Then I decided to try Amazon. Success! I bought two! Each one came as I rated the features. However, the wires, giving it the jaunty appearance were crushed in each box by the inflatable film bubbles used as packing. I loved mine so, I tried for over 24 hours to reshape the wires. It was hopeless. Perhaps ship loose in a box? Dunno. I'm not that kind of engineer. Good luck getting this to the hands of willing customers or custoers just drive to Saratoga.

This hat looks great in the ad and I decided it should be just the ticket for what I wanted: a sun hat with a full 3” brim, a fully ventilated crown and cool style. I’m not super style conscious in general but oddly particular that a hat looks good, LOL. I mean, if I buy a boonie hat, well it’s functional, but I wanted functionally cool! Is that too much to ask?? This hat did not meet my expectations in three ways: size, material and brim form. All of these have been mentioned in other reviews before me.First, it is super light weight and I like the look and colors. Mine came very well packed in an appropriate hat box, although it could have been ½” bigger in both directions to be even better.Size: I have a big head. Like, ginormous. It measures at 7 5/8 or 7 3/4 long oval. There’s something peculiar about my oval melon though, which I know from buying motorcycle helmets; my forehead is prominently vertical, creating something of a corner between it and the top of my head. Think male sperm whale. (My bride assures me you can’t tell by looking at me, but the hat don’t lie.) I most often land on XXL with hats and helmets. I bought the largest size, XXL, but it was still too small. I don’t exactly blame this on the manufacturer, but the XXL is supposed to go bigger than my head. It may not be that the hat band is too small, but the crown is too conical, meaning as I push it down on my head it engages the forehead in an unpleasant way. This style point is apparent in the pics, also with Dorfman’s other sun hats.Material: They advertise the Supplex nylon as being soft and cotton-like, but more durable. The entire hat is stiff and plasciky. The brim feels weird...I mean, it’s flexible, not like board-stiff, but the material crinkles and snaps. Not soft. The crown screen material is also kinda stiff and as aforementioned, plasciky. It holds its form, but I doubt it would survive too many flat packings as I think it would crack.Form: The crown is fine. The brim, however, has permanent, random potato chippy waves. You know how the guy in the pic in the ad looks all cool with the front and back low, and a nice bend in between? Not so, this one, just like some of the other pics folks have posted. To me, that’s the single biggest factor in how a hat looks on a head. And I don’t think it was the packing, that was great, although the box was just a bit cramped in length and width which I supposed over time may have caused the brim to stick in its odd position. Maybe this happens more with the bigger sizes ‘cuz they don’t fit as well? I dunno, this odd shaping, I don’t have the sense it is box-induced. It just seems permanently baked in. Either way, it’s stuck that way now.So it’s going back. Bummer. This great summer hat came as advertised, was the correct size, and works great out on the boat fishing!Well vented to keep your head cool but provides shaded cover for the bald spot, ears, face, and neck.Perfect for what I needed it to do!

This hat looks better in person than on line. The fit was just right and it was very light. However the first time I wore in direct sunlight for several hours the top of my head was sun burned. I just tossed it in the garbage. $30 down the tube. Great hat for mild partly cloudy days. Not worth dime for full sun.

My husband is really pleased with his XXL hat's fit and stability when he clinches the chin strap behind his head. He wears it all the time when working and finds it cooler than no hat!

Well made with good cooling design. Size a little tight for my head. Price is on the high side.

very light weight and breeze

The quality of this hat was really disappointing, it literally crinkles with the sound of plastic throughout, unlike the same brand and style of hat we bought a few years ago on Maui, which is made of a good quality canvas material. The packaging was also bad - they just threw it in a bag and it arrived misshapen, beat up and pretty sad looking. We returned it to point of origin in a box at least. Seriously would not pay $5 for this hat. Do not recommend.
