Primed underside of truck bed after removal of old bed rails and before mig spot welding in new rails. Welds went on fine with this primer applied and then gave it another coat on the spot welds. Looks good.

Impossible to get a decent weld using this “weld through” primer. Using mig process on 16 ga clean steel.Nothing but porosity and poor weld starts.Set up same weld without primer and no issues.Edit: there is a technique described by Caswell, where the primer is removed from the bottom of a plug weld using a small end mill or cartridge primer pocket cleaner. This allows a clean start without sputtering and excessive inclusions.

I won't ever buy the $40 3M weld-thru spray primer again, after using this product. Less than half the cost, and does the exact same thing.

I like how it matches the factory primer. Welded pretty good in my opinion. I used a mig welded when welding the panel.

First let me say that I only leave reviews when I am really impressed by a product or when a product is very bad. This case is the latter. Can arrived damaged with the nozzle leaning off the stem. I tried seating the nozzle back on squarely but then paint sprayed out between the stem and the opening at the top of the can during use. The label on the can was also not flat against the can and had creases, as if the label was hastily applied. From the other reviews it seems like this seller ships defective cans and does not accept returns. The box and a second spray can (different brand) arrived undamaged so this was not a clumsy delivery driver. Also, I ordered the “OE shiny” but it is just flat grey like ordinary paint.
