well designed mobo
Very well made but inexpensive motherboard. There are two SATA ports which is perfect for my application. The PCE slot is only 4x, but I don't need this slot anyway for a small form factor build. It has a complete set of video outputs including VGA, DVI, and HDMI -- as well as analog audio out if not using HDMI. I am able to power this board, processor (AMD 5350), RAM 4GB x2, and HDD using a picoPSU-90. Even this PSU is far more powerful than needed for my build, but I was concerned about the adequacy of the ATX connectors. While the board has both 24-pin and 4-pin ATX connectors, it works well with the 20-pin and 4-pin connectors on my picoPSU. The BIOS is nicely done and allows for overclocking. I have used other ASUS mobos and continue to be very satisfied with their products.

Works well in my HTPC
I am using this for an HTPC along with an Athlon 5350 APU. It works very well for playing movies, amazon instant streaming, and other HTPC duties, which are admittedly pretty light.Comments on the motherboard itself:* The BIOS is slick and responsive. It's one of the best designed and easiest to use BIOSes I have ever seen. Not that that is a huge deal, but kudos on ASUS for that.* I installed windows 7 on this machine and had intended to download all the ASUS drivers from their web site, but windows 7 does not have a driver for the onboard ethernet. So it was a hassle (my box doesn't have an optical drive). Also, the various drivers from ASUS's website were kind of a pain to install once I had downloaded them. Both of these are pretty insignificant. Once you get this all set up, the motherboard just works without issue. I'm happy with it.

ASUS really hit it out of the park for a low cost, high performer!
I have three of these now and I love them. I use one for my Ham Radio setup to control two radios (it has two hardware serial ports - but you need to buy a standard RS232 backplane (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002O21XVM) in order to use the second one. Another one is a home fileserver, and the third is an HTPC. I use the Athlon 5350 CPU in each since it's cheap. This board does the job superbly.

Very nice..
Very nice...Makes a perfect home theatre PC when matched with an AMD 5350 processor running Linux Mint Cinnamon. Fast enough to do the job, yet runs cool and efficient. My only complaint is the UEFI bios. If you're using Windows 8 or 10 I expect you'll be fine, but with any other OS it's a pain. You have to disable 'secure boot' to load Linux or any other non Microsoft OS. You would expect that this would be a near trivial bios setting change, but no, it's rather a pain. The option is greyed out; you have to delete the security keys, then you can disable secure boot and get on with it!Would be five stars if not for the bios.

The ONLY AM1 MOBO which can OVER-CLOCK!
Whenever I'm building or buying a new system, I always try to get Asus MOBOs, even if they cost a little more. Asus products are always reliable, and this MOBO is no exception, even though it's cheap!I've had no problems with this MOBO at all -- It POSTed and booted up from the very first time I put it together. Plus, the MOBO instruction manual is like a small novel. If you have any questions about installation, updating BIOS, compatible components, etc., you can DEFINITELY find the answer somewhere in the manual. And, as the title states, this is currently the ONLY AM1-socket MOBO which can OC. I was able to boost my Athlon 5350 from 2.05ghz to 2.2ghz using just the BIOS advanced settings. (105mhz overclock with 21.0X multiplier and all other settings to auto). This overclock got me an additional 5 FPS in Bioshock Infinite at 720p and lowest graphics, at no extra cost! For more about the performance of the Athlon 5350, you can read my review on its page.MY SET-UP:- Linkworld Electronic Home Theater Media PC Case - 920-01 C2121U with included 150W PSU- Asus AM1I-A MOBO- AMD Athlon 5350, OC'd to 2.2ghz, 1.27V, stock heat-sink- Crucial Ballistix Sport 4GB Single DDR3 RAM (UDIMM)- Samsung PM810 128 GB 2.5" SSD

Limited for the price and does not support "legacy" Operating systems.
It's one of the most expensive AM1i motherboards on the market currently.GOOD:*It's a all solid caps board with should make it last.*UEFI Bios is "pretty" and supports mouse.*Has 4 USB connectors in the back panel and 2 USB 3.0BAD:*Does not support a external video card. This limits the board to the APU video.*Does not have mini PCIe. Other AM1i motherboards have this feature.*Only 2 SATA 3.0 (most AM1i have only 2 with the exception of Asrock motherboard with has 4).DEAL BREAKER:* Does not support booting into "legacy" non UEFI enabled operating systems. I got this board to use it in a headless home lab visualization server. for with task it failed miserably. I tried all the CSM (compatibility mode) settings but none worked. Os installed without a problem from USB install media but when I tried to boot it just keep going back to the "bios" (UEFI). After a lost afternoon. had to return it. Got a MSI AM1i mini-ITX and that board had no problems booting non-UEFI os.My OS is XenServer 6.2 bare-metal hypervisor (Linux and grub underneath)If you plan to run windows 7 or 8.x should work for you. I did not test it with either one of them.

I had nothing but problems with this board and ended up returning it. Your results may be different, but I opted for an MSI.
I had the following difficulties with this motherboard:1) The UEFI/BIOS setup menu of this ASUS motherboard is difficult to navigate.2) I had to manually set/force the board to boot UEFI or BIOS when attempting to dual-boot Windows 7 and Ubuntu LTS 14.04.2. After many frustrating hours and re-installs of both operating systems, I gave up and just went with Windows 7.3) Power to the USB ports was unreliable. The 3 different WiFi adapters that I tried would drop the connection within 10 minutes of booting either Windows 7 or Ubuntu. All of the problems went away when I returned the ASUS motherboard and replaced with with an MSI Mini ITX board (not from Amazon). The MSI works just fine with my USB WiFi adapter and the UEFI/BIOS interface isn't much different than what I've been using for the past 20 years.

Excelente opción en AM1
Muy buena tarjeta para procesadores AM1, ya que te permite overclockear y agregar un plus de rendimiento. Recomendable utilizarla con procesadores de 4 núcleos

Gutes Board für wenig Geld
Tolles Board, alles bestens! Für den Preis und mit Athlon 5350 ein schneller Mini-PC für umfangreiche Anwendungen. Die Leistungsaufnahmebeträgt im Durchschnitt weniger als 25 Watt.

Fits the bill well with the great value AM1 5350 processor
Fits the bill well with the great value AM1 5350 processor, running Media/NAS (Fedora and Kodi), reminder AM1 processor only supports 2 Sata channels, which you can overcome with a PCIE card if it becomes a problem in the future. Over all great little low powered system.

Excelente producto!
