Well made with good hardware. Easy to assemble. Should last a long time.
For heavy snow in northern Ohio I have a large snow thrower. But for light snow, or for cleaning up after the snow thrower, for many years I've used a 19-inch Suncast brand "plastic" snow shovel with a steel edge and a pronounced curved profile. It's kind of a small light combo shovel/pusher and seems like it should last forever. But using it seemed to involve a lot of walking around, back and forth and so on, because it’s small. So I thought maybe I’d get a little bigger ergonomically styled shovel, but Consumer Reports didn’t seem to think much of that style. Then I saw these big 3 and 4-foot snow shovels. At first I thought they were ridiculous, but ordered one anyway after reading the favorable reviews.Well believe me this Snowcaster model just puts the old shovel to shame. For me at 70 years of age I bought the 36-inch model, which I thought would be more easily wielded than the 48-inch. Because of its width it saves a great deal of time compared to the old faithful Suncast. Sometimes I'll turn it to a 45-degree angle like a snowplow to avoid trailing snow coming off the side of the blade. You can just zip up and down your drive and be done in no time, provided the snow is light. This product is well constructed and the hardware supplied for assembly is of good quality too. You will just need an 11-mm. wrench or two to put it together. One caveat. Overzealous snow shoveling can be very hazardous to your health, and especially to your heart !!! Seriously !!! So avoid the temptation to use this kind of big pusher as a shovel, especially if the snow is wet. Instead use a smaller shovel or get out the snow thrower.

Way more fun than a snowblower.
This is 4-feet of everything I had hoped for. I have a long driveway that's downhill all the way to the garage. I have a guy who comes to plow whenever we get more than a few inches of snow. (I live in the North woods of Minnesota, so we get plenty of snow.) But if it's just a few inches, it's real easy to walk to the top and push a shovel to the bottom. I used to do it with a 2-foot wide shovel. Now I BLAST IT with my 4-footer. Three quick trips down the hill, and I've cleared my whole driveway. It is an incredible tool. Really solid, heavy enough to sit firm on the ground, but not so heavy that you have to be a gorilla to carry it. I highly recommend it for downhill use, but it's easy enough to push on level ground. I did the pad of my 3-car garage plus a turnaround space in about 5 minutes or less. Zip, zip, zip. Like other reviewers have said, it's not for deep snow or for lifting and tossing. By the way, I'm 68. All you young studs should be using one of these. 2019 ADDITION: It still works great. Now I'm 73 and had back surgery 4 months ago, but I'm still clearing my long downhill driveway quickly and easily. My driveway is very rough, so my shovel is showing a bit of wear on the blade, but it will take several decades before the wear affects my shoveling. The bad did warp the first summer. But I just elevated the ends and put a couple paint cans in the middle, and curved it right back into shape.

Worst Instructions Ever
You may think it's simple enough, however, there are 5 screws that come with it and written-only instructions on where it all goes. "Self-drill" screws for the lower part of handle (which direction does the handle go, who knows?), and a blue plastic piece that you have no idea where exactly it goes on this shovel. I'm waiting for the storm to use it (if we get the self-drill screws done correctly). I bought it because my neighbor has one and he loves it. He shovels his driveway twice as fast as me (same size) with, what looks to be, great ease. YouTube has nothing but a different handle version install instructions that is not helpful for this style. Come on Snowcaster, you can do better - simple photos will do the trick!

Worth the cash!
Bought this hoping it would help me clear my 60' x 22' drive-way faster. Does definitely does! It is perfect for the 1-3" fluffy snow storms that aren't quite enough for the snow blower. The blade has enough of a curve to it that allows you to shovel it once you slide the snow to the pile. The blade is plastic which makes it perfect for wood decks (no scraping off the paint). The only thing I could see as an improvement would be to make the bracket that attaches the blade to the shaft out of aluminum. I know the cost would increase but at times I felt like it could break because of the amount of snow I was pushing. Overall very happy with this item. It use to take me 20+ minutes to clear my drive-way with a standard shovel; now I can do it in 5 minutes.UPDATE 1-10-17: Still loving this shovel. I didn't even have to get the snow blower out last year (and not this year as of yet). Holding up very. I'll probably order a 30" one to do deck steps, etc.Just a short rebuttal to the reviewer how posted about the blade warping. I'd put good money on it that the owner did not store the shovel on a flat surface, which caused it to warp. Sure it will... it's plastic. I did this once and fixed it by storing it on a flat surface with a couple weights on top. Straight as an arrow.. good as new.

This 4 footer (heavy poly/plastic blade) is a great addition to my snow clearing arsenal
I have both a 2 foot and 3 foot metal snow pusher. I bought them primarily for clearing/cleaning the frozen pond for ice skating. This 4 footer (heavy poly/plastic blade) is a great addition to my snow clearing arsenal. CAUTION: don't think of this as a shovel...it is a snow pusher. For light, fluffy snow or heavier snow of a shallow depth, it does a great job of clearing snow from a flat surface. If there is variability of surface height or condition, the results won't be as good (length of blade will ride up on high spots, leaving snow in the low spots). All told, I really love this product - it works great for me. The bracket connecting the handle to the pusher blade arrived with a small crack...the manufacturer was easy to deal with and immediately shipped a replacement bracket - high quality, made in USA, great customer service.

Great purchase to ward off snow
Shovel arrived unassembled but was easy to put together. I just moved to PNW when a big snow event occurred. I ordered the shovel and no snow since. I'm ready when it returns!

Light to handle, but does an awesome job with light snow
I bought this scraper to use on my 150 foot long double width driveway, when we only get an inch or two of light dry snow. It does a great job. The blade material is very slippery, so no snow sticks to it. It covers a huge area at a time, so it doesn,t take very long to do the complete driveway. I scrape it right down to the pavement, and in no time, the sun melts the remaining skim of snow and I end up with a nice dry, bare paved driveway.

What an amazing shovel. My time shoveling our driveway has dropped ...
Where has this been all my life??? What an amazing shovel. My time shoveling our driveway has dropped from over an hour to around 15 minutes. I was going to buy a snowblower and a backpack leaf blower, but bought this shovel and a sleigh shovel. I use the sleigh shovel for REALLY wet, heavy snow dumps, and this shovel for 95% of the rest of the snow we get here. It works best on flat surfaces. If you have lots of cracks and uneven ground, you will want a narrower shovel. I also love how you can purchase replacement parts.

Nice shovel but 4' might be too much
Great shovel for moving snow off my rink but 48" might be too wide as it curves up and leaves a bit of snow behind.

Great shovel
I bought to shovel my lake rink but it works great on my driveway. It's faster than my neighbor's snowblower!

Best tool I ever have !
Best tool I ever have, but you need some physical strength to hold it up.What is amazing is I am living in Toronto and snow is like hell, but with this thepsychological factor is gone, because you are thinking that every time you goout it will be done in 5 to 10 minutes, not to mention sometime you have to go outeveryday or two times a day. Unless you have retired that you don't mind running50 rounds in a small driveway because small shovel leak two more trails for everyline you shovel. Yes, it is not perfectly clean if the driveway is not flat, but who is going tojudge you. I haven't try sticky freezing rain stuff yet, but I suspect it is more or lessthe same benefit. Remember, it is a pusher, not a pickup-er. So if it is a snow dump, you will have to push a few more times to avoid the accumulation.
