Great Hans!
I purchased this for a 24 Hours of LeMons race. This was my first Hans. I was afraid that it was going to be restrictive, bulky, or uncomfortable. In reality, it was none of those. I really didn't mind it at all. I'm 5' 8", average/muscular build. It fit well out of the box. Barely made any adjustments to it. Would definitely recommend.

Stand up company
I picked this particular hans device for its adjustability. The first one that was sent didn't have any hardware and the certification was already a year and a half old. I contacted the company and they immediately sent a brand new one out and I am very pleased with it and the company.

Unsafe in actual accident for some users
Design of HANS allows it to slide along the belts and around your shoulders when properly adjusted in the seat. This causes the tethers to relax and not provide any of the necessary support needed in a high-force accident.May work for bigger guys in some cars, however my experience as a skinnier guy was very poor. Despite adding grip tape to the device to reduce the slipping on the belts, and tightening down the belts to the point of shoulder pain, I was still able to rotate the hans about my shoulders and defeat its' purpose.The adjustment process was fairly simple, however at shallow angles the padding no longer aligns properly, and there is a gap which causes hard plastic to be grinding into your shoulder.The rear width adjustment can easily rub against your spine causing bleeding during a race as it did for me, there should be a pad there.The padding on the shoulders is quite thin, so you really feel the plastic underneath. Overall however the construction is high quality, it does not feel like it will fall apart at all.My instructor and coach is a neurosurgeon who specializes in racing safety devices, and he and I both were not satisfied or confident in the HANS' ability to keep my head and neck secured during an accident.Your mileage may vary, however be extremely wary of this product, and only purchase if you are able to try it first. I will be purchasing a proper HANS.
