Outstanding tablet for the money
I had been on the lookout for an inexpensive Android tablet for a while when I learned about the Quantum Axis A23, a 7″, dual core, dual camera model with 512MB of DDR3 RAM.To be honest, the low $55 price tag concerned me a bit, but since I had heard good things about it I thought I’d give it a try.The very first thing I noticed when I picked it up for the first time was how well built this tablet is. I expected a tablet that costs so little to feel cheep and fragile, but the feel of this Axis A23 is neither. The attractive molded plastic case firmly holds the screen in place with no bending or cracking sounds.I was a little disappointed that the set-up instructions said to let the battery charge for a whopping 24 hours before powering the tablet up for the first time, but I can tell you that the wait was worth it. I believe you’ll be hard-pressed to find a more speedy and capable tablet anywhere for the same money. The powerful combination of an x23 ARM Dual Core 1.5GHz CPU, 512MB of DDR3 RAM and a Mali400 High Performance 3D Gaming GPU ensure snappy performance and great video quality when watching Youtube videos.Speaking of Youtube videos, this tablet won’t play them right out of the box, but a quick download of the Youtube Android App from the Google Play Store took care of that right away.Much to my surprise, the Axis A23′s stock Android web browser turned out to deliver good performance as well. But as I always do when I get a new Android device, I downloaded the free Opera Mini browser which always puts my web browsing on steroids! And so it did here.Everything you need to get started with this tablet is included in the box. You might want to add a microSD card (up to 32GB) to augment the 8GB of internal storage if you plan to store tons of apps, videos, photos and music on the device, but it’s perfectly usable without it.The only thing that really disappointed me somewhat about the Axis A23 was the quality of the cameras. Don’t get me wrong, they’re not terrible. In fact they are about as good as any camera you’re likely to find in a $55 tablet. I guess I was just expecting something a little better given the excellent performance of all the rest of the camera’s hardware and features.Bottom line: I really like this tablet, and I don’t think you’ll find a better one in its price range. I was very pleasantly surprised by the solid construction, the snappy performance and the responsiveness and clarity of the screen. If you’re looking for a good, but inexpensive Android tablet, I strongly recommend giving the Axis A23 serious consideration.

If you're looking for a tablet, this is the one!
The media could not be loaded. Build Quality: 5/5 Performance: 5/5 Battery Life: 5/5I ordered the Quantum Axis A23 as a father's day gift for my dad. As I do with all gifts for him, I opened it to test it out and set it up. Let me begin by saying, this tablet exceeded my expectations. For $55, you can beat the specs. It has a dual-core 1.5GHz processor whereas most tablets in this price range have a 1.2GHz single-core processor. It also has a dedicated GPU which helps gaming and video performance. I tested some 1080P HD files (in MKV format loaded on an external SD card) and they played flawlessly on the native video player. No lag or stuttering and the audio was in sync! I also played Angry Birds, Temple Run 2, and Clash of Clans which all ran without lag! I added my dad's Comcast e-mail to the built-in email app and there were no issues with syncing, not that there should've been. The screen also beats other tablets in this price range by far. It has a resolution of 1024x600 which makes the screen a lot more sharper. Text and video appeared 100% clear without any noticeable pixelation. Despite having such a nice, bright screen, the battery does not die quickly. I've done some light web browsing, app downloading, video playback, and It's been on standby for the past 48 hours, and it still has more than half of battery left in it.I had no issues with Wi-Fi or downloading apps. The Wi-Fi on this device is actually VERY strong. It picks up my neighbor's Wi-Fi networks even when my Samsung Galaxy doesn't! The Google Play Store and all Google Apps come pre-installed so there's no need to load a custom ROM (unlike other tablets). Google Now is installed on this tablet which I did not expect. (Google Now is Android's version of Siri). Lastly, the tablet comes already rooted so you have the ability to edit the software as you please. I was surprised again to see that it has a lifetime defect warranty from Quantum but based on what I've seen I do not see this tablet failing anytime soon.Video review: [...]

7" All[-around] Winner
I've had this tablet for a little over a couple weeks, now, and I find it worth its weight in gold to me; I do a good bit of digital art and graphic design, and it really makes my life easier when it comes to learning new techniques, because I can be working on something, need a tutorial on, say, how to create a new text effect, turn the tablet on, and be able to search up what I'm looking for in a jiffy, all without having to leave my desktop workspace. It's become a must-have item for me. It's inexpensive for the features and the processor speed to say the least. I mean, a 1.5GHz tablet for $55? It's a no-brainer. Yeah, the battery life leaves a little bit to be desired, but it's not much less than a laptop. And, look at the size of the unit! I think the battery life is pretty darn good for such a small device. But, I think the area in which this tablet really shines is the fact that it comes pre-rooted. You can tinker with (some of) the apps, and have it work like you want it to. The level of customizability alone makes it worth the money. But, all-in-all, this is a GREAT little tablet, at a great price. Top that off with a great support team, and you've got yourself an all-around winner. I had an issue that was my fault, really, and the owner of Qusantum Suppliers took care of it relatively quickly, and very courteously, I might add. It's this artist's opinion that you'd be a fool not to at least try this tablet out for yourself.
