Need two people
It works great on a standard chain link fence. Though it needs two people to install. One person to hold the clip and the other to screw the bolt. Though I would like to mention this is not a security bolt so anyone could walk by with a wrench or socket set and undo the bolt and in turn steal the sign

Perfect for Pickleball Court signs
Used to mount a sign on our Pickleball Court gate. HOA had used U-Bolts, but that would have exposed the sign to breakage in strong Colorado winds. This is the perfect mounting solution that keeps the sign tight against the fence!
