They work really well for gigs.
They work. I've used them at two loud metal gigs and they reduce noise, but keep the higher frequencies so you can hear the singers/keyboards etc. without getting ear damage from the overall volume. They're not amazingly comfortable, but not uncomfortable enough that they distracted me at all. Way, way better than foam which dull the sound. First time I used them I wasn't sure they were working as the sound was coming in OK, then I removed them and they very definately were. Stood not too far from some very loud speakers and left with absolutely no ringing or loss of hearing.

The Acid Test - Swans
Bought these in advance of seeing 'Swans' live, so glad I did. They come in a handy cylinder with a belt clip, are comfortable to wear one you get the right size, and easy to retrieve. They knock about 10 db off the received volume without muffling or compromising the quality of the sound. Gives some protection against high frequencies too, but in between songs it was possible to have a conversation without removing them.Took a 2 and a half hour sonic battering from Swans, not ten feet away from Mr Gira, and had no tinnitus afterwards, despite every object in my pockets vibrating like a phone on silent mode. Great buy (and amazing concert).

Great for gym classes
I bought these for use in spin and fitness classes. The music is generally extremely loud and I struggle to hear what the instructor is saying over the wall of noise.First impressions are good. You get two pairs of earplugs, one large and one smaller, together with a small plastic storage case and a steel key ring case.In use “they just work”. The music was still enjoyable, whilst being at a bearable volume.Unlike foam earplugs intended for power tools these don’t chop out huge chunks of high and low frequencies that can make the music sound muffled. The music sounded just the same, just quieter.Best of all I could hear the instructor rather than just being bombarded with noise.

Great value
Comes with 2 sets of of earplugs, plus two little carry cases. Works really well at festivals, and if one doesn't fit your ear comfortably the other sure will. Reduces sound down well to a point everything is still extremely audible, would recommend.

They reduce the sound levels
They work really well. They take out the high noise levels. I got to a club where they have live bands. Sometimes the noise levels are too high. These plugs allow me to hear the music clearly but reduced the sound levels to an acceptable level.I could still hear people in order to have conversations. The plastic of the plugs is quite soft and thin so be careful you don't damage them. It is a compromise as thicker tougher plugs wouldn't be so comfortable. Also read the instructions as they explain how to put them in and out of your ear.

Great for my teen attending first gigMy
Bought for my 13 year old daughter attending her first rock gig as she has very sensitive hearing. Having read that they're tricky to get in and out we had a practice first - but she had no issues at all with inserting and removing them herself. She found them comfortable, could still hear the music really well without being overwhelmed by the volume. she took one out during the gig just to see how much difference they made and said it was a lot.The metal holder with carabiner was cool, we could just hook it onto the car keys so they wouldn't get lost. The plastic thing to go around the neck was pretty pointless though.

Saves ears
I got these to wear at concerts. I was still able to hear the wonderful music. It just acted as a filter so my ears didn’t ring after
