Best shock absorption dampener I've used so far. Head make very good after market products for Tennis.

This is my all-time favorite shock absorber. Every year I always come back to using this one even after trying out the rounded or square shaped ones. This one is my favorite because it expands across the racket so it's more stable and secure. The only caveat is that this one seems to break a lot easier especially when the balls accidentally hit the sides with the hooks.

Good feel. It makes a racket play softer. The end breaks off if you have it too tight.

According to the USTA, string vibration dampeners are legal as long as they are placed outside the area of the cross strings. Dampeners may not overlap the bottom cross string, and they do nothing but calm the sting vibration and change the sound of the impact. No dampener affects the feel in your arm. These are as good as it gets! They do not come off until you take them off. To install them, go to the string bed area below the last cross string (toward the throat of the racquet). You want to put them between two main strings that measure just a bit farther apart than the length of the SmartSorb when it is centered within in the width of the stringbed. Finding string to start upon (when it is centered - either end of the SmartSorb will do) the SmartSorb is then woven over and under the main strings (some prefer starting at the middle and weaving outwards - not me). Be sure to stretch it a bit as you are weaving so you can reach the string you plan to be the final hook main string that centers (width-wise) the SmartSorb on the stringbed. Hint. If the hook opening is down when you attach it, then weave under the first main, and if the hook opening is up when you start weave over the first main. I love this product... POP!

3 stars because for the short time I could use it it was good, but it broke after one use when I tried to move the location. I accidentally placed it above the bottom set of horizontal strings, and it should be below them. When I tried to move it, it the black end piece just popped off.

It seems effective for reducing the shock on your tennis racket strings. You can use the little round shock absorbers that seems most popular, but they only touch two main strings wheras this shock absorber touches 5 to 6 main strings, so at least in theory, it should be more effective.
