Timoo Bike Brake Levers Aluminum Alloy Bicycle Brake Handles, 2.2cm Diameter, Black

My son fell and landed on his brake lever which completely snapped. I purchased this set of 2 even though I only needed one and swapped it in. Fitment was good (tiny bit longer than the old one) and installation was easy. Two different sizes of allen keys/wrenches are used here so make sure you have a set. The larger of the allen bolts is for the mount. A smaller one allows you to shorten the lever throw distance. The construction is entirely metal and solid so no worries about plastic cracking here. For reference, my son's bike was a Schwinn Koen with 16" wheels. I'll keep the extra handle which I think would install fine upside down too so I can use it as a spare.

Great product. Bought son a bike and it had plastic handle breaks. First one broke upon a fall soni bought a set of these. Installed the first one and a week later the other side broke (plastic one) so I installed the second handle. Haven't had an issue yet. They work perfectly and are a lot stronger then the plastic ones the bike came with. Would recommend for replacing broken ones or just want a good quality METAL hand break. They are kids, they're definitely going to fall. Nice to k kw this product has held up.

At $8, it's somewhat unfair to make complaints about these levers. They look nice, and they are all aluminum, so the barrel adjuster and lockring turn smoothly (compared to some plastic levers). I swapped them between bikes and they seemed to work fine for both V-brakes and mechanical disc brake calipers. With that said, the metal does feel pretty flimsy, and this gives rises to a little flex, which makes them feel "spongy". I like my brake levers to feel solid and and tight so this was a bit of a disappointment. I think all of this acceptable given the price. I can't really speak to their durability, but I think these are an excellent option for a kid's bike, walmart bike, beach cruiser, etc. On the other hand, if you are going to be riding fast on road or XC/MTB trails, or in any situation where your ability to brake is paramount for your safety, just a spend a little more and get the Avid FR-5's (which are now about $20 new, and you can find them cheaper used).

These brake levers look really nice in the photos. But they don’t look the same in person. The workmanship is so so. Also, when I received them, there were scratches on the black paint and a washer ring was already rusty. Not sure if these brake levers were returns. Not happy with what I received but didn’t want to go thru the trouble to return them so I cleaned off the rust and installed them. They seem to work ok.
