Only Wish I had bought this sooner
This thing plus the Garmin Montana GPS unit may be the best investment I've made in a long time. Take care to install the power leads into an extra switched power (there is usually one behind the headlight and one under the seat on most motorcycles). When I turn the key on my bike (DR650) the unit turns on and when I turn the key off, the unit prompts me to power down or run off of battery power. The mount is very stable, I coupled it with a ram mount. Only wish I had pulled the trigger sooner. The instructions are not super helpful, I was nervous about plugging directly into 12v, but after some research I saw that others had done the same. It works like a champ and with some clean cable routing, this is a set it and forget it set up!

Quality built
Have this mounted on my Can Am outlander. I do suggest keeping covered. The latch mechanism will get stiff over time

easily un-clip the GPS and take a photo
Very strong mount. Worked very well on recent 340 mile dual sport ride. Lots of demanding terrain and the GPS never had an issue. Note that you do not need to use the "security" screw to lock the GPS into the mount. I was concerned about that initially because using the security screw would really limit the use the camera on the Montana 650t. Without using the screw, you can stop, easily un-clip the GPS and take a photo. Great product.

Nice!
I bought this to mount my Garmin Montana 600 on my motorcycles. Of course, shortly after mounting this on motorcycle number 2, the GPS unit started to fail. In researching a replacement Montana 600, I found it was $400 while the new Montana 700i was only $700 and I sold my in reach to cover the difference. But, the Montana 700i uses a slightly different cradle, so I had to get the new cradles for it. But this cradle worked on the Montana 600 flawlessly. It might be the pinnacle of GARMIN design.

Works, but expensive
Works perfectly. Wish it was a little cheaper. Its just plastic and wires.

Wonderful accessory
Works great. I actually cut the cable short and put spade connectors on the 12V + and - wires and plug it into factory accessory connections on my motorcycle. I ride off-road, dirt and gravel a lot and it holds great. Love that it has the rubber contact cover built right in. Nothing to worry about keeping in pocket or losing. Couple this with a RAM handlebar mount and you're all set.

Great Mount for ADV and Dual Sport Riding!
I've been a DeLorme GPS user for 6 years now, using both PN-40 and PN-60w with SPOT, and though I prefer their functionality and software over Garmin, I am tired of waiting for DeLorme to change their form-factor to something more useful for my needs. I purchased a Garmin Montana 600T during a trip from Washington to So Cal from a big box hunting and outdoor store. Since my primary use for these devices is dual sport and adventure riding, I needed a mount to complement the Garmin unit that could survive the rigors of a couple thousand miles off-road, on single and dual track, as well as dirt and gravel forest, fire and country roads. This unit fits the bill. I use this mount in concert with a Ram Mount ball, short arm and ball with a diamond mount plate. It's very rugged, and with the short arm, handle bar vibration is imperceptible on all of the bikes. I had doubts that the cradle would hold the GPS securely in all conditions, but so far, no issues whatsoever. I haven't even used the security screw. I highly recommend this mount for rugged use of the Montana series of Garmin's GPS units.
