Works Just Fine
I've used hot water dispensers for years. We put in a basement apartment and bought this. It's a different brand from what we've used before, but it works just as well. Someone asked me recently why we wanted this. I guess once you get used to having it, you want to have it! We use it for more than just hot drinks. When cooking, if something asks for water that you're going to heat anyway, we use this and it's ready quicker. Coffee makers these days have hot water features, but this is quicker, and hotter.

Ultimately returned this as it was too large for my sink
It was just too big. I bought it to replace a broken insinkerator hot water tap but this one is much larger, both the tap is taller and the water reservoir is bigger so would not fit unless I relocate my pipes so I returned it and bought the more expensive insinkerator just due to the size. Otherwise I expect I would have been fine with this one.

Great item, quick and easy install. Couldn't be happier.
This is my first foray into instant hot water dispensers. We like a clean, uncluttered counter top in the kitchen, and often left our electric kettle sitting out. Got tired of it, so started looking for a good deal on Amazon. I was a little concerned about the quality of this item, due to the 2 poor reviews vs 1 positive one. Well, I figured I couldn't lose buying it from Amazon, so I took the plunge. Boy oh boy am I glad I did.First of all, if you've been looking at this type of unit, you know they aren't cheap. For roughly $200 usually you only get a tank, and can spend another $200 for the faucet. Ouch, that's a lot a cash. For $207 with the tank AND faucet, this is the best deal going. I happen to really like the way the faucet looks, as it more-or-less matches our sink faucet, but of course, that's a matter of opinion. The installation was pretty much a breeze, once I figured out what I was doing. It came with almost everything I needed, with the exception of a sufficient length of polyethylene tubing and a method to attach the cold water supply to the unit. I bought a length of 1/4" poly tubing from HD, and an adapt-a-valve to tie it in. Oh, and if you didn't already know, it just plugs in to a standard 3-prong outlet, it's not hardwired. So you need to run an outlet under your sink (GFCI please).Anyway, I used the supplied poly tube for the hot supply, and the HD poly tubing for cold (don't know if the HD stuff is rated for high temperatures). Including extending a circuit under my sink, grand total it took me an hour and a half. Once I was certain there were no leaks, I plugged it in, and 20 minutes later I had hot water. Easy-peasy.Oh yeah, the method of securing the faucet to the counter is pure genius. There's a hinged washer you drop through the hole in the counter, then pull tight with the attached plastic lanyard thingy. Put the base on the counter then run the screws down and through the washer. Bam, that's it. No crawling under your sink with a wrench and cussing loud enough for the neighbors to hear. The only downside I see, and I'm sure this applies to all of them, is it's huge. I doubt it's any larger than the others, but I wasn't expecting it to take up so much space. It took a little effort to find just the right spot and angle to make it work, but ultimately it was fine. Just thought I should mention it if you have a cramped space to deal with.I've attached a couple of pictures, in particular pics of the proper adapter you need to attach to your cold water tap. Hopefully it will make sense. In the meantime,Official Seal of Approval applied.

Slow flow and very weak.
My contractor rechecked the installation and hoses. The water has a very weak, slow flow. Can you suggest what we can do to make it work correctly. I have had this before and really liked it. No problems. Please help.Camille

Not great
I bought one of these after comparing the ones available locally. Typically, I find that lower cost items are often close to identical to their brand-name counterparts. Not so, in this case. It showed up very quickly (yay Amazon!) and I quickly opened it to check that it would fit in my space...it did, and I looked at the instructions and fittings so that I could make sure I had what I needed before I started the install. I'll reveal that I am a journeyman plumber, and I generally know what I'm doing. The first issue was the lack of a vent...in most of these heaters, the dispensing valve has a poppet check valve that operates as a safety valve, but my dispenser tap doesn't have that (this product is tank only, no dispenser tap) so I had to make a safety valve assembly. If you don't feel comfortable with that, just buy a standard hot water dispenser tap. Then I sized the fittings, and discovered that the outlet for the hot water was a relatively unusual size of stainless tube. It comes with a plastic fitting (acetal) which seems adequate, but I decided that a compression fitting would be more secure. The john guest style fittings for the inlet seemed ok, and I decided to use them (standard 3/8" OD tube). I plumbed the whole thing in, ran it full of water, and plugged it in. Water ran and ran, but it seemed alright...nothing was leaking out. But the water kept making running sounds. I turned it off and looked. No leaks. So I turned the water on again. A moment later, water came out of the top of the plastic case! I was flabbergasted. I pulled it out and emptied the unit. When emptying it, I verified that the check valves and the interior bladder were functional. Everything seemed fine. I checked every piece of plumbing, and it was all good. I re-installed the heater...running and running water.Rather than pull the thing apart and risk voiding any warranty, I packed it up and sent it back for refund. The sticker for the front panel was missing in the package, the fittings were weird, and it leaked in a strange place (I suspect at the element gasket...) so I gave it up as a bad idea.Seeing as you don't get proper hookup fittings or a proper dispenser valve, I'd mark this one as a false economy. Buy the kit, so at least you can yell at someone when it doesn't hook up. I'll be springing for a Franke or Insinkerator after this...

It works.
Not as hot as I like, but it does the job.

Mounting holes were sealed off; had to knock out with screwdriver - plastic case molding issue
Purchased to replace another brand that failed after 3 years. Great price, fast delivery, good instruction manual, easy to install after I punched out the mounting holes. Larger than most other brands; could be an issue if the mounting space you have available is limited. I like the indicator light that lets you know when water is hot; turns from green to red when water is heating and back to green when it is hot.

Loved the first one until it leaked
I had a plumber install it the first time so very easy. It worked perfectly for 18 months and I loved the ease of using it - note: if you are going away for the weekend and the water has been sitting then run it through thoroughly and there wont be a problem with the smell or taste of the water.Unfortunately it started leaking slowly from the base (I have a water alarm which notified me) so I ordered another one here so it was easy to swap over. I received it but the tank was tripping the breaker (arc fault) so I returned it for another. It was clear when I received the second one that it was a return from someone else and also tripped the breaker. I then paid the electrician to ensure it wasn't something to do with the breaker. it wasn't and they said to return the unit as likely something wrong with the heating element. I also contacted the manufacturer to check they hadn't changed the tank and they hadn't. again I contacted amazon to return this for another one. wouldn't you know, amazon sent me the one I originally sent back but it was in worse shape - missing pieces and the heating knob off - what did the warehouse do with it?! Well I am trying for the last time. wish me luck!
