Worked on the first trial with VGA connection to projector
We needed this to project from iPad to screen for an instructional class on using an iPad. Arrived last night and just relied it out this AM. Worked just fine. Plugging in the USB Micro connector from the power source was a big challenge. It didn't want to fit in. Tried and tried, and finally got it to insert in the adapter. That was the only difficulty. I had to use a USB extension cable to get far enough away from the AC power socket. But, I had expected that, so I brought one along with me. As instructed, insert power cable (USB micro) before plugging into iPad (Lightning) and remember to TRUST the device on the iPad. I hope that this will continue to work as smoothly as it did this morning..

Would not buy
I've tried a number of these devices. They tend to fail within a couple of days. They get very hot. This one is bigger than the others. I was hoping that it might dissipate heat better. On day one, it seemed to be working well. plugged it into an iPad and tv. Stayed relatively cool compared to the others. After about 4 hours, the HDMI video on the tv actually began to lag the iPad. Fell behind by more than a minute. I've since plugged it back in. I expect it would perform the same way.

Worked for a day. Then, IN CLASS, my presentation BOMBED because...
during my presentation, I plugged in the lightning cable, and the message on the projector screen said "cover the hole (what???) and UPGRADE"I tried everything. I looked for a hole. no hole. I thought, how does this "upgrade" and why would it need to upgrade? It was confusing, and in the end after 10 minutes of trying stuff, I ditched my presentation and had to WING IT.Should have bought the GOOD STUFF in the first place.sending back.

Nice for apps that smart TVs don’t have
If you don’t have a smart TV this is great for watching apps on your TV that you couldn’t usually watch without a smart device. Our cable provider doesn’t have an app for smart TVs so when we are away from home at our vacation house, we can’t watch live TV. I didn’t realize a device like this existed so I thought I would give it a try and it did not disappoint. I can watch live tv from my cable providers app on the TV now and not rely on my phone screen. It works just as advertised.

Does not work for steaming /mirror - maybe only for projecting - no Sound
Maybe ok for projector onlyStay away from this if you are trying to watch anything on Hulu or Netflix Ect.HMDI doesn’t work - gives an error every timeVGA is really lagging and slow and bad qualityAlso no sound thru VGAAlso this is not its own power source - has to be plugged inBetter lay more with the one from Apple

An incompatibility between my devices?
While it took a little more time to makrThis thing work than I thought it should take, it finally began to work. My TV device has all the usual input types, but is not brand new. The converter did not like at all the RGB input on the TV, but it did work with HDMI input. After a short time of watching some YouTube videos, the display froze up and would not do anything after that. Trouble shooting eventually led to the converter not being able to handle the video streaming, even though this is the main reason I bought this product, which is at this time a bit of a disappointment.

Does the job.
Works like advertised. I wanted to use my iPad with a projector so I didn’t have to carry my laptop around. I basically use PowerPoint for my presentations so I decided to buy this little device and give it a try. It works fine. I find it a little inconvenient that it needs to be plugged into the power outlet in order to work, especially because it has a very short cable. Other than that it’s ok.

Works ok, but how to upgrade?
It’s ok. The screen tells me to do an OTA upgrade. The screen tells me to “press a hole for 5 seconds” There isn’t a hole anywhere on this thing. Has anyone had any luck upgrading the software on this product?
