Cable loop makes this lock a superior product!
I bought several of these TSA-approved locks because I want my luggage to be secure, and it often contains valuable items that I want to make sure arrive safely. The Lewis N. Clark TSA Cable Lock (2 pack, black, one size) is the go-to lock of choice. It is excellent in every way, and buyers can save themselves a lot of time by simply choosing this lock for securing luggage or other items.I use the lock for many purposes besides securing luggage. For example, I use one lock on my locker at the gym. It is fast and easy to use, and you can set the combination to anything you choose. The cable is longer than the regular solid metal loop, which makes it easier to use in many different applications.I also use the lock for my laptop, certain file drawers, and other uses where a secure but simple lock is called for. The Lewis N. Clark lock is inexpensive, yet durable. When used on luggage, the TSA has a special key that can open the lock if they need to check your luggage without ruining the lock. And the cable loops (rather than the solid metal loop on most locks) makes the lock look stronger than others, which is a deterrent to someone trying to cut or break the lock. There are a great many choices on Amazon when you look for luggage locks, but the Lewis N. Clark lock, which comes in a 2-pack, is a great choice. You can also order an odd number. For example, I ordered 3 locks, and got a 2-pack and a single lock. So you have many buying choices with this vendor. The lock got to me quickly, and I was pleased with it from the first moment I used it.I give the lock 5 stars, and would highly recommend it to anyone. As far as I can tell there are no "cons" about this lock. Use it to secure drawers, bins, luggage, lockers, and even power tools. If you put a lock around the "trigger" of a power tool, it will probably prevent anyone from using the tool (like a child). So, there you have it, my glowing review of the Lewis N. Clark TSA-approved lock with cable loops. You really can't buy a better one for the price, and they are as sturdy and reliable as big-name-brand locks that cost 10 times as much.

Great little locks!
I like these locks, the numbers are very easy to read, lock mechanism is smooth, and the cable fits my zippers perfectly. 100% I would recommend these.

Easy to use lock
I bought these locks because I hated carrying keys around when I'm on vacation. Both locks work better than expected. I love the fact that these are cable locks rather than the traditional u-bar shaped lock. It provides much more flexibility when locking your luggage. The dial system on it feels well made. All dials turn without snag and they click when a number is in the proper position (ALL numbers do that not just your combination). It's to make sure that you don't miss-align a number.Yes there is a warning on it that says there is a chemical known to cause cancer but in all honesty it's not like you are going to be holding this lock in your hand or pocket all the time. Constant exposure to any chemical will cause bad side affects. The only time you touch these locks is when you open or close your luggage on a business trip or vacation. Trust me, you've touched and smelled far worse when you use common house hold cleaners.Resetting the combination is extremely easy;1. Open the lock using the default combination and leave it opened.2. Using a small pointed object, (pens work nicely) push and HOLD the button on the bottom of the lock.3. While still holding the button, set your combination.4. Release the button and it should be set.The only con is the price. These locks are more expensive than the traditional bar locks, almost 2 times the price. However they feel more durable. If you hate carrying keys, have a good memory, and want a lock that will last awhile (assuming TSA doesn't lose them) then this is the lock to get.

Convenient locks
I bought these locks mainly to keep my suitcase's fairly free-moving zippers from easily coming open during baggage handling, and secondarily for peace of mind. Historically I haven't traveled with locks on my luggage since the whole TSA fiasco came into existence, and never had anything stolen. (Though I usually keep valuables in my carry-on bags when possible - it's just common sense.)It's true that the cables are narrow gauge and could easily be snipped with the right tool. These locks are mainly to deter the casual thief who'd take a peek in your luggage if it wasn't locked, and who doesn't carry around heavier-duty breaking-and-entering tools. I don't think they're any less "safe" than a padlock with a solid bar instead. The right tool could cut through those just as easily. And I like the idea of having the flexible cable in case the bag rolls over on them - I'm not worried about the zippers breaking because the locks wouldn't give a little. At first I was a little worried one of my two locks wouldn't come open like other reviewers had mentioned, but it's really just kind of a funky mechanism. You have to make sure you're pulling it in the right direction to get it to come free, or you'll be pulling for a while to no avail. My boyfriend used one on his bag on our last trip and claimed he couldn't get it open. I went over and pulled it off no problem. So RTFM, people (read the instructions).I like that it's a combination lock so I don't have to keep track of any keys, dig keys out to get my bag open, or worry about losing the keys. The locks themselves feel hefty and generally of good quality. I'd buy them again.

Handy easy to configure and useful for more than TSA luggage
I bought these after TSA cut off my previous TSA locks on my luggage (our govt dollars at work). They were easy to configure with a customized code, and the TSA logo is clearly displayed so hopefully they won't get cut off again by a lazy agent. Because these have a decent sized flexible loop on them, I found them handy to use at the gym as well. My prior luggage locks didn't have a flexible loop on them, so they would not work on the lockers at the gym. Now I don't have to lug around a heavy lock on my gym bag.Of course they are not that secure, but it is meant as a deterrent, not to replace Fort Knox. I find that plenty adequate for luggage and during a workout at the gym.

Still look and function as new after a couple of years of use
These travel locks deserve the five star rating that everyone gives them. They have taken a lot of abuse from the airlines and still look and function as new. The cable threads through some pretty small zipper-head holes, and I also really like the fact that the digits on the lock are easy to read in dim light and without an electron-microscope! Some other brands I've used are less user friendly.

Easy to use
I like these, easy to use. Three numbers to remember and flexible wire make easy opening and closing. Perfect solution for a gym locker.
