Puppies For Dummies Paperback – April 16, 2019

I've never had a dog before and this book helped me so much when I got my puppy! There is information about every single topic you can think of, and it is a quick read. The author seems very knowledgeable and i used a lot of her techniques while training my puppy. It also breaks it down by age of the puppy so I continually go back as he gets older. If you don't know anything about puppies and you are getting one, this is the book for you!

I have always purchased the latest edition of Puppies for Dummies every time I have acquired a new dog. These books are so helpful to train and get acquainted with your new dog. I highly recommend this purchase.

I'm a new dog mom at the age of 50. This book covers everything you will need. I was just mindful of tweaking some of it don't better fit me or my situation, such as being in lockdown during COVID. The most disappointing aspect is the checklist is a joke. I was really looking forward to something that would distill things down, as there is do much to remember, but it's worthless. I'd also caution the author for being too ethnocentric. People can purchase this anywhere on the planet, I have lived in 2 countries since leaving the US, and odds of getting 'Made in America' are slim to none, and I'm out of slim.

I read this every day and gives accurate detailed easy to read material great for me to know about. As a first time pet owner, its great to know something beneficial about my puppy. This book is packed with useful material. Puppies for dummies gets a high five stars from me!

I appreciate the author's tips for raising a happy, healthy puppy, BUT the layout of the information is too scattered. It's so inconvenient being redirected to other sections of the book without even including the page number to make it a little easier. "Use the peekaboo solution I describe in Chapter 15." "I covered this tip in Chapter 11." "See Chapter 5." I don't have time to run to the index over and over to jump to another chapter for the rest of the information I'm seeking on a topic, and that's assuming I can guess what key word I'm searching for in order to reveal the information I need so desperately, with very little free time to find it. Big oversight in putting the book together.

Covers everything to know concerning puppies such as choosing a breeds or rescues, living with, socializing, training, wellness plans, games and tricks

This is really an excellent book. I like the layout, the writing style is personable and relatable. While I've had dogs for as long as I can remember, I have never raised a puppy before, so this book has been invaluable to me. While I don't think it's possible to be fully prepared for everything a new puppy can bring, I can honestly say I'm going into this with so much more confidence than I previously had.If you're like me, brand new to Puppy Parenting, I think this is a really good starting place.

I like the simple to understand way things were written and a lot of info on puppies and how to raise them!
