Ideal for international travel and at home
I got this to use while traveling in Europe. The charger that came with my OralB toothbrush is inexplicably only good on 120v. I was mystified by that. This solved my problem Only had to charge once on my trip, but that's what I needed. I've got this charge in my travel toiletry bag and use the original at home, but could use this all time if needed. It is dual voltage, which make one wonder why the manufacturer just didn't include a dual voltage charger as the OEM unit. Go figure.

DOES NOT WORK
I bought this to charge my Oral-b toothbrush after accidentally throwing away my original charger. It did not charge it at all. The lights would come on when I set it on the charger but after hours of being on charge it would still be dead. I agree with the other reviews the product does get hot. After reading similar reviews for other similar products I decided to buy an OEM charger and I could instantly tell the difference. The OEM charger is heavier than this one and started charging my toothbrush immediately. It was worth the extra few bucks. Don’t waste your time and money with this one.

Almost like the original
On the pro side this replacement charger runs on 220 as well as 110 current unlike the original so I will definitely be using it for travel. On the con side the form factor is slightly different so that it does not clip into my brush holder like the original did. This is annoying but hardly a show stopper. Overall it's a good productd.

Save the Device for US Use - Voila
By European based Braun did not work well with an adapted as it is a round two prong not easy to use with adapters not specifically made for its special pring shape. Search Amazon and voila found this so that the whole unit was replaced with a US plug AND base. So instead of throwing out the whole thing, I now have a brand new base and plug and my 8 year + old European brush works perfectly. All for $10 whereas new Brauns are over $100. Now if they could only get the rip-off price of the brush heads down which is scandalous .... [the generic heads on Amazon work OK but aren't exactly the same quality..) But that as they say children is another story.... This solved my immediate issue. And Good for that
