Funniest movie I’ve ever seen
Pretty much my favorite movie of all time. Hysterical, good story line.

How have I never seen this movie?
I was sick so watching movies in bed. I like all of the lead actors in this film and have watched most of their movies. How have I not seen this movie until now? (2024) I have never even heard of it! This movie is HILARIOUS and I wish I had purchased it rather than rented it because the purchase price was not much higher than rental cost. This is definitely a movie that I would watch over and over.

You Have to Like Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Paul Fieg, Melissa McCarthy and Their Ilk to Like this - if you do, you'll love it
Disclaimer: I like a huge variety of films. I am as excited about Memento as I am about Sense and Sensibility. I laughed so so so hard at This Is the End and We're The Millers, while at the same time ranking The Shawshank Redemption as one of my favorite films of all time. I looooved Temple Grandin and I also loooved Star Trek 2009. I loved Big Fan and The Skeleton Twins and Chef. And Charlie St. Cloud. And Cast Away. And Big Hero 6. The Women (1939 version only). And so on.I tell you this because I know that when I recommend movies to friends, I only recommend movies based on the kinds of films THEY like, rather than what *I* like (because I like so many genres. And I don't just like *anything*, they have to be great, WITHIN their category. I.e. a good plot, interesting characters, good dialogue, nice pacing, etc. If the movie's meant to be a screwball comedy, it has to really nail the screwball comedy.)That said, I thought this movie was hilarious. Me and my husband saw it in the theater, and there were laughs aplenty surrounding us. Will everyone like it? Is it a comedy that will appeal to every person? No. There are plenty of innuendos, risque humor, and cursing (which I don't mind at all). But if you like movies like Bad Teacher, Bridesmaids, The Hangover, Spy, We're the Millers, This is The End, The Proposal, Due Date, Neighbors, etc., you'll love this. Very funny. We were both thoroughly entertained.Knocking off only 1 star based on how many times I'd be willing to rewatch it. I'm definitely willing to rewatch this, but not as frequently as some others. But if it tells you anything: I bought a digital copy of it as soon as I could.

This movie came recommended by a friend who I don't normally trust recommendations on(we have different opinions on funny when it comes to movies), but this was great!

I laughed right at the very start and thought this could actually be good. The trailers might have just mis-sold the film
Based on the "sort of" tries story of Mike and Dave Stangle. Two immature brothers who are told by their family to bring responsible dates to their sisters wedding.Another film that seems to be just over the mark from what I believe to be a style of comedy devoted to the stereotype of teenage humor. Or at least that's what I thought from watching the joyless trailers for this film. But as always I walked into the screening room with an open mind. So did I actually end up laughing at Mike And Dave Need Wedding Dates? Well yes I did laugh a couple of times.... Not very many but a couple. But the problem is the distance of time between each laugh was way too long. I laughed right at the very start and thought this could actually be good. The trailers might have just mis-sold the film. Unfortunately I didn't laugh for another 20-30 minutes. And this seemed to be how the pace of the film went. And the main reason I laughed at the specific gags I laughed at was because they made a difference to the constant barrage of crude "humor" being thrown towards the audience. The biggest problem seems to be that this comedy isn't funny. The lead actors do a good job in making some scenes funnier and Zac Efron delivers one of his best performances of the year ,but then that's easily done for him after the train wreck on steroids known as Dirty Grandpa and the unfunny Bad Neighbors 2. If the script was better then the film would be better. That's really the only thing wrong with the film. There is one main stand out actress who can't act for all the money in the world and this is the person who is playing the sister of Mike and Dave.Once again 2016 delivers another unfunny comedy but this one isn't as bad as others before it. Still it might leave some people wishing Mile and Dave were never invited to the wedding in the first place

New addition to my feel - good list!
I came across this movie on some random channel at about 2/3s of the way in. I was in my home office working and basically left it on to have something in the back background.I ended up watching and laughing my way till the end! While visiting a friend they mentioned how they'd love to see a comedy. This movie immediately come up mine. It wasnt one of those watch free to prime members, so I set out to purchase it, i knew from what I had seen it would be a great addition to my legit video library. At my usual digital movies purchasing outlet the hd version was about14. 00, I figured I'd check back on amazon and it was available for purchase in hd for around four bucks. That was a no brainer! Is a gem in the comedy genre. Sure, it has some off the wall style comedy, but that is something that gives it characterGreat, funny movie!
