Good sized solar panel, and battery make this worth it
***Update #2*** pump stopped working again, less than a year later. I'm willing to take some of the blame as I didn't clean it as regularly as I should have, and I think it might be best put away during winter, but having said that, another water feature I bought earlier (from a different warehouse style shop beginning with A) with a similar solar powered pump - is still working. So I think these ones just aren't built to last. Probably not worth buying.***Update* This pump actually stopped working after a couple of months of use - tried following instructions to ensure it was clean but it seemed it just stopped receiving power at all. Contacted the seller via Amazon and they provided excellent customer service and sent a replacement, so I'm very impressed and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the pump or seller. ***I previously tried another solar pump without a battery and was very disappointed. Without direct bright sunlight, nothing much happened at all.I then decided a battery on the unit was a must, and this seemed to have reasonable reviews and I'm glad I chose it.I've now purchased two of these pumps which I have connected to my own 8mm hose which attaches to a water feature running into my pond. A sort of self-made rocky waterfall if you will, and it works well. The pipe is 2m long, and I had no issues with even one pump getting the water to the top, however adding a second (with a Y connector between the two pumps) works especially well!I find the water runs continuously most days from early morning until evening (helps that the sun has been out a lot recently) but, as another reviewer said, if you remove the pumps from the water when you don't need it (i.e. when you're not around) then you'll find it holds its charge longer. All in all I'm very pleased, mainly due to the size of the solar panels and the decent sized battery. I'd definitely purchase this again if I needed another pump in the future.

Good small pond fountain pump.
Bought for a small wildlife pond. Pump is tiny and not very heavy so I glued the three rubber suckers to a small square of floor tile which worked well. Good flow rate considering the size of the pump. Only really works well in direct sunlight. Pump comes on periodically in hazy or oblique sunlight. Much more effective than the type of pump which has no battery. Battery does not maintain flow at all after sunset. Filter is a grill in the side of the pump housing and is prone to becoming blocked but is very easy to clean. Fountain head is also prone to becoming blocked and it is a little difficult to prise the cap off the head for cleaning. Has worked reliably all summer.

A little fountain
This is easy to assemble and install, was working away within 10 minutes of being put in the pond. Not a great jet of water, maybe 6 inches or so above the fountain head, but just what our 120 litre pond needed. The pond is against a southern facing wall, so the panel gets plenty of daylight. Works intermittently when cloudy (but that's fine for us), continually in direct sunlight. Only thing was we had to put a fairly rigid wire around the floating fountain, with the wire anchored at the edge of the pond. Otherwise the pump tended to act like a little propeller and pushed the fountain to the edge. If left there, I daresay it would have gradually emptied the pond over a period of time.Edit: The solar panel gave up after 12 months, so we bought another set. The new panel worked with the old pump. We kept the new pump as backup. The old pump gave up after another 2 months, and the new pump also gave up after 2 months. Won't buy another.

Absolutely brilliant!
The media could not be loaded. I baught this to replace an old fountain pump that was useless.I'm glad i researched and read reviews before buying this, it's worth the little bit extra money for the large solar panel and battery backup that keeps it going once the sun has gone in.It's super easy to set up, the cord is a decent length and there are plenty of fountain attachments to choose which type of spray you would like. The pump has suckers on the base and i used a brick to lift it up to the surface of the water.Overall a great little fountain, i will be buying more for the other ponds.

Worked really well but broke after a year
Bought this for a small pebble pool in the garden and didn't expect much however I was really surprised with the strength of the pump even on cloudy days. The interchangeable nozzles meant I could alter the flow of the water (some were a little fiddly to put together but not really rocket science to work them out). I took the pump out, dried it and stored it over winter and then the next spring it just refused to work. The panel and wiring was fine but the pump was totally dead. Tried everything to bring it back to life with no joy.
