The Tuf-Line XP80150YE XP Fishing Line utilizes aerospace technology. Tension Lock Technology TUF-Line XP is produced under high tensions allowing more compaction of the fibers during the finishing process. TUF-Line XP is more compact, small in diameter, packs better on reels, offers better knot performance, casts longer, reduces rod tip wraps and boasts higher abrasion resistance.

Quality braid, great price.
Now that I am starting to buy 2500 yard spools, I did a bit of research, which led me to decide on Tuf Line. This is an eight strand solid braid manufactured by Western Filament, who also makes Jerry Brown braids. Tuf Lne has a different feel, as it undergoes a (heated) "after treatment" that gives it a harder feel than other lines. This evens out the strands and also keeps the line from soaking up water, which is a good thing. The only downside is that I need to be vigilant with the flex tape when I do high speed jigging. BTW, Mustad just bought the product, but Western Filament will continue to manufacture the line.

Quality line, reasonable price.
Sure there is cheaper braid as there is more expensive, but I've never had a failure with tuf line. This includes deep dropping for swords with most of the spool out.

Can't trust it
I tried out this line because it costs a bit less than the "name brand" braided lines even thought I saw a few reviews that complained about the tested breaking-strength of the line. I got the big spool because I have 5 reels to fill and this was the ticket. The problem came when I got curious about what knot I should use connecting this braid (65lb) to my mono backing and top shot (50lb mono). I was testing a Spider Hitch vs. an Albright and an Improved Albright. I could not get this line to break over 36lbs in my tests no matter what I did. That would be disappointing but ok - except for the fact it kept breaking mid-line instead of at the knot. I tried this 5x to be sure. With 2 spider hitches on each end my 50lb mono breaks at 50lbs, this stuff breaks under 40lbs. I am going to do more tests with some of the line I already have on the rods and see how it breaks.2 stars because it's possible my tests are flawed but 2 stars because now I don't trust my fishing line. I fish offshore saltwater in the Caribbean and not trusting my line is unsettling...

Really Tough
I filled 8 reels with this line. I am impressed by the diameter to strength ratio and the soft, suppleness of the line.

Great line, great price
I fish offshore exclusively for some of the raunchiest fish in the ocean. I have found no braid that is better than Western Filament. Others cost a lot more, and some of those expensive ones leave a lot of crumbly residue on your fingers. The WF product is tough and consistent, and you will cry less when a 600 lb marlin spools your 50 Penn and takes all your line with him to Saipan.
