This is a fine Chef's knife for every-day use. Nicely balanced offering a well shaped handle, the blade is sharp out of the box and as a first test I found it cuts random (and tough!) raw beef chunks with ease. It is a budget knife yet it will accomplish anything a much more expensive knife can achieve. I guess the only downside with this practical and good-looking knife is 'pride of ownership' - by that I mean it is trying to look like something it is not i.e., the metal is not damascus steel (meaning it is folded over many times during forging) because that pattern on the blade is laser-etched. Over time and with heavy usage you may well find it get worn off in places. Like any knife, to continue to perform well it will require regular sharpening and honing, and done well that is no simple task. You can quickly ruin any knife through incorrect sharpening so read up on how it's done. Also, I suggest never putting it in a dish washer, it has a lovely natural wood handle which will surely suffer over time due to the strong detergent and high temperatures involved. Instead wash it under a tap or in warm soapy water, then just wipe clean with a micro-fiber cloth. I also cringe when I see someone cutting something on a ceramic plate - don't do that as you'll dull the edge in no time flat. If you want to spend 3-4x the price on an heirloom blade with no practical additional benefit then go for it, but also keep one of these knives handy to take over the bulk of day-to-day work and keep the expensive one in its display box :-)

An elegant and precise instrument, well made and nicely weighted, it has the feel of a tool you could fight a pirate with yet slices tomatoes with all the grace and delicacy of a surgeons scalpel, the etched lines are a bit of a waste of time, a nice satin finish would have made for a far classier looking piece, but the rest of the knife just seems worth far more than i paid for it somehow. Genuine bargain for anyone who is tired of plastic handled prison style shivs in their kitchen.

Rubbish, blunt to start with the steel is so hard you can't sharpen it I've been a chef for 30 years now retired and I've never used a tool as bad as this, feel like I've been robbed.

Looks and feels great but unfortunately the blade lets it down big time. Nowhere near as sharp as described in fact quite dull out of the box. Not suitable for a professional kitchen the blade just isn't up to the task.

The box of the product wasn't sealed , no protection on the blade or end of blade, no instructions or something similar talking about brand or knife.Very poor product.

Quality product and would definitely recommend this to anyone of any skills level

Decent knife for the price bit lighter than I expected.
