Black Plain STARR "X" Wall Mounted Bottle Opener

Q: Does the black powder coating wear off after multiple uses and show the metal underneath?

I've used mine a little over a dozen times now and don't see any chipping or wearing..and I had to get down on my knees to really look. Mine is mounted below the counter top next to my trash can..if it had chipped I wouldn't even see it because the part that actually snaps the top off a bottle is underneath the lip. It's a heavy metal and I assume it's cast iron..which I believe is black any ways.

Q: What is the dimension between the holes for the screws?

There's approx. 2.50" between the top and bottom hole. The descriptions states the entire bottle opener is 3.25" tall, but I measure less than 3".
