Not as dry as others I've read.
I liked this book a a bit more then some of the other books on the subject. Not much on the subject of vacuum kilns but not as dry as others I've read.

Good book for making lumber
This book is a collection of articles from Fine Woodworking over the last several years. The number and scope of articles is pretty comprehensive. If you have all the mags, you can find these articles or just go to this one source and find what you need. It even has articles on staining/fading of different types of wood/stains and health concerns with certain species of domestic and imported woods--not things one always considers. Overall, def worth the $12 or so.

Dry lumber
This book has helped me a lot. I live in Colombia, South America and got this book from amazon. It's great how the author explains step by step the way to get the best out of any lumber. In the conditions we live here in Colombia, from high temperatures to lots of rain, it's very important for any woodworker to learn how to get dry wood. This is one great way to learn the process properly.
