Excellant Fresh Ground Chili Paste
I was looking for something with a LOT of heat...This wasn't it BUT it is still an excellent Fresh Ground Chili paste with a Bright Red color! The lid was intact with absolutely NO Spillage and It has GREAT Flavor! I thought that with the large Gallon size would last me a while and I wouldn't run out of it but as much as I've come to Love this Product, it won't be long before I have to order another one. You can use it on scrambled eggs/ hot dogs/noodles/pretty much anything (I haven't done it yet but have started wondering what it would taste like on Vanilla Ice Cream, LOL!).

Versatile and Flavorful Chili Paste
Huy Fong Sambal Oelek has become a staple in my kitchen for adding a spicy kick to a variety of dishes. Here's why I love it: Pros: Robust Flavor: This chili paste packs a punch with its bold and intense flavor profile. It's made from freshly ground chili peppers and offers a rich and complex taste that enhances any dish. Versatile Usage: I appreciate the versatility of Sambal Oelek. Whether I'm stir-frying vegetables, marinating meats, or adding a kick to soups and sauces, this chili paste adds depth and heat to a wide range of recipes. Preferred Over Sriracha: While I enjoy sriracha, I find that Sambal Oelek offers a more concentrated chili flavor without the sweetness of sriracha. It allows me to control the level of heat in my dishes more precisely. Large Quantity: The 8.5-pound container provides an ample supply of chili paste, making it ideal for frequent use in cooking or for restaurants and catering businesses. Cons: None: I have no complaints about this product. It consistently delivers on flavor and quality, meeting all of my expectations. Overall, Huy Fong Sambal Oelek is a fantastic chili paste that adds depth and spice to a wide range of dishes. Its robust flavor, versatility, and generous quantity make it a must-have for any kitchen. Whether you're a fan of spicy cuisine or looking to add an extra kick to your cooking, I highly recommend giving Sambal Oelek a try.

Restaurant quality !
Had to buy in bulk when they stopped selling it at our local Chinese restaurant. The taste and quality are amazing, you can definitely tell off brands of this. Hint of spice full of flavor

Very flavorful, not just spicy
Purchased: August 3, 2016 (1st purchase May 31, 2015) Price: $29.27 ($34.44 minus $5.17 subscribe & save discount, free shipping, Prime) Seller: Amazon.com LLC If you like it hot, then you'll most likely enjoy this sauce. i buy it on Amazon rather than the grocery store because the price is much lower. i first tried this chili paste about 2 years ago and fell in love with it right away. i do like a variety of spicy foods (horseradish, wasabi, habaneros, Frank's Redhot, etc), and although i can take more heat than the average person, i'm by no means one of those people that can handle super-hot foods. i could eat a spoonful of this chili paste by itself, and i have done so, but it's a little too hot for that to me. i mix it in with other foods, and while that cuts the heat, the flavor still shines through deliciously. i've mixed it into many soups, bean dishes, pasta recipes (hot or cold), scrambled eggs, and cottage cheese just to name a few. i also sometimes mix it with sour cream to serve with other things or just for a dip. As far as the consistency, i'd say it's about the same thickness as an average, non-chunky salsa. Just to give you an idea, for example when i use it to make scrambled eggs: i mix about 2 or 3 tablespoons in with 2 large eggs, stir it up with a fork, and cook as usual. It only takes a couple minutes longer than the eggs would normally cook without the sauce. My suggestion is to buy a single jar at your local store to make sure you like it, and then come back and order it on Amazon. This company also makes a garlic chili paste, and though i adore garlic, i didn't like that one as much. They also make a sriracha, which is alright, but again, nowhere near as delicious as the regular chili paste. These sauces are all sold in plastic containers, not glass. Another plus is that it doesn't need to be refrigerated, even after it's open (according to their website). i do keep mine in the fridge usually, but i feel comfortable putting it in the cupboard when i need the extra room in there like around Thanksgiving when space is at a premium.

Wonderful condiment! Thank goodness I found this!
First and foremost, I could drink this stuff. With its medium spice and slightly salty tang, it truly goes well with a huge variety of foods. (I prefer it on white rice ... I also really like to mix it with some light soy sauce for a spring roll dip. But I've used it on everything from eggs to smoked sausage.) For whatever reason — and the word on the street was "two bad crops in a row" — this, along with the sriracha from Huy Fong Foods — disappeared from grocery store shelves between late 2021 and late 2023. I tried other brands that paled in comparison. I tried to make my own to no flavorful avail. I also tried to convince myself that chili crisp was a viable substitute. Chili crisp is wonderful, but nope. This review, in addition to serving as my full endorsement for this delectable condiment, equally serves as a testament to my integrity. ;-) I seriously considered leaving negative comments to discourage others from buying the remaining stock. But a little voice told me to do otherwise.
