Poor replacement
Could never get knob to come off shaft as directed online by pressing a small flathead screwdriver into slot. If you install this don’t ever plan on getting it off. You’ll be using a hacksaw. Also shaft is a hair too short. When pushed in to turn lights off it jambs into plastic dash cover.

Works Perfectly, Read My Instructions Below If You're Having Issue:
This part is a little tricky to put in, but PLEASE read what I've learned from this experience:1. DO NOT TRY TO REMOVE THE KNOB FROM THE ROD on this new part. You're going to have a bad time, and if you're like me, it'll make you feel like a wimp. This part seems like it's built a little differently. To put this part on without removing the knob, read my instructions below.2. When you remove the old rod from the base, place the base back into it's spot and screw it back together. THEN, put the dashboard bezel back on. That's right, and NOW, push the new knob AND rod THROUGH the bezel and INTO the hole for the base. Jiggle it around a little while you push in. You should hear and feel a click. The new knob AND rod should be locked into place now.3. This is verified working on a 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra. Now, I've seen the OEM part on other websites for double what it is here. BEFORE you purchase this, remove your old rod from the base. If the rod is silver, then this part WILL fit. If it is black, you might have some filament issues, but should still fit with a little grunt.

Good for it's purpose, but not OEM
Tldr: Cant remove dash bezel with knob installed without breaking bezel.My 1993's OEM had a removable head for the purpose of removing the dash bezel, however this is a permanent shaft. Only way to remove the head is to remove the shaft, which requires removing the bezel, something you can't easily do if you can't remove the knob.Luckily when I had to remove my bezel it was already replacing it; so I just broke enough off to be able to remove the shaft and go along with the rest of the replacement.

Knob does not remove from rod as per oem
The knob and rod stay together so once installed, you have to hacksaw the rod and take the knob off to get the console off.
