.com Sarah Michelle Gellar may be saving the world from vampires but her TV show is also helping a few worthy bands get some much needed exposure. Dayton, Ohio's ridiculously prolific Guided by Voices lead things off with the playful "Teenage FBI," a strong distillation of the band's knack for the irrepressible hook. The all-femme Hepburn protest in true "Maggie's Farm" fashion (as in "I ain't gonna work on...") for the quickstepping, bubble-gum punk-pop of "I Quit." Bif Naked's arena anthem "Lucky" is perfect for staring at candles. Garbage are in suitably psychedelic glam shades for "Temptation Waits." Rasputina, the gothic cello ensemble, include the appropriate "Transylvania Concubine." The only misstep is from virtual old-timers the Sundays, who deliver a lazy-day version of the Rolling Stones' "Wild Horses." But this is made up for with the inclusion of Nerf Herder's "Buffy" theme song and Christophe Beck's instrumental theme music, which round out this all-inclusive collection. --Rob O'Connor

Hard to find '90s relic😎
I was a big fan of Buffy back in the day, and this is a nice overview of some of the alternative music featured on the show.

Relive your 20s
I have been reliving my 20s listening to Buffy. It is pretty gothy as we’re the times of leather and chokers. I quit by British band Hepburn and Superfines, I already met you are two standouts on the album. No 2000s teen soundtrack would be complete without Maxy Starr’s Fade into You. I will say not on the CD sadly since it was season 6 but Michelle Branch’s Goodbye to You is another good single to add to the mix. It is super angsty. Relive the whole Buffverse by streaming it all and welcome to the Hellmouth.

Steve's Review
One of the things I love about Buffy the Vampire series is the music they use in the different episodes including some of the artists that have played at the Bronze which is the local Sunnydale hangout. I went looking for soundtracks and found this one, if you're into 90's indie rock (as I am) then you will like this album. Two of my favorite songs are on this album, It Doesn't Matter by Alison Krauss and Wild Horses by The Sundays. It Doesn't Matter is used in episode one of season two and Wild Horses is featured in the season three episode The Prom. If you're a fan of the show or a fan of 90s music then I recommend this album, check it out!

brings back so many memories
I love this album. i had it years ago, when it first came out and it was lost in moving so i recently purchased it again. I hadn't heard it for many years but as i used to listen to it constantly, all the words and songs came flooding back on the first listen. If you can get it, do so. The songs may seem a little dated considering it's release waaaay back in '99, but if you're into awesome 90's music (especially because this is the decade when alternative music really came into its own and, in my opinion, was the best) and of course if you LOVE Buffy, then you will love this.

It is okay
I think that they could have done a better job of picking songs for this disk.

Everyone Must Buy This CD!!
Not just a great compilation CD for Buffy tVS fans, this is a great alternate compilation CD fullstop!! An immediate promotion from indoor stereo to car stereo (there is no higher accolade for me than a CD gets promoted to car stereo listening). You must buy this CD! Did I say you must buy this CD? You must buy this CD!! Wild Horses alone is worth the price of admission. Six stars!!

Outstanding soundtrack!
You may look at the tracklisting and see a bunch of non popular artists (except for Garbage) but I guarantee you this music would be at the top of the charts had it been given enough promotion. Unfortunately, radio time is used mostly for a select number of artists played constantly throughout the day so alot of people aren't aware of this great music. If you're into the rock/pop combination (sugar ray, vertical horizon type styles), you should like this music. All of the songs can be heard in the series and they all fit perfectly with the theme of the show. Take a chance with it.
