I used this microphone with my smartphone video rig. Mic was far better than my Note9 built in mic, but didn't boost sound as much as I thought it would. This mic is not powered so expecting it to boost audio is too much to ask. The mic is heavy and solid metal, two cords are fully detachable, and foam seems fine but not built for high wind noise, and shock mount is plenty bouncy. Only potential issue with mic is the hard plastic cold shoe mount. The cold shoe mount also uses a plastic nut/ring to tighten, but it does have a 1/4in reciever in the bottom. Overall decent passive mic for the price but could have a metal mount and slightly more shotgun sound effect to cut down background noise.

Singing is great, and the price is not expensive, I really like it anyway. Appearance material: feel good, good quality, worth buying.

I wanted a microphone to work with my GoPro and this was a great choice. It eliminates background noise and catches great quality sound. Keep in mind that the microphone only records to what you’re pointing it to.

It worked super well and made my video quality perfect! The only downside was it was super windy the day we shot and some of the wind still picked up ... overall it was perfect though!

I am mystified by the positive reviews. I have tried two of these, and both of them record sound that is not as good as the built-in iPhone 7 mic. It is definitely plugged all the way into the lightning port, and it is definitely pointing in the right direction. There is no other troubleshooting that I can think of. With the mic, the volume is low. Without the mic, the volume is good and the speech is clear. I am really disappointed.
