Like Riding a Cyclone
Very exciting, larger than life characters, communication blips...some humorous, some painful, some poignant, full of alien love and honor. Super entertaining read.

Go Cassie!
I adored the empowerment Cassie got. It feels like the females are finally getting some back. I still dislike that the dynamics are skewed towards the males. I like that Cassie's threats carried weight with her Dog. I would have loved for him to really have to work for the trust he broke. In real-time relationships a betrayal that deep would take a long time to fix. Still this is the best in terms of relationship equality. I am intrigued by Kenzi. It'll be interesting to see what story gets spun for her.I wonder if in the breed world there are unhappy pairings. Pairing where you know if nature had not forced them together they would just as soon kill each other as love each other. I wonder if there are any that have a "War of the Roses" end to them.Don't read on if you haven't read the book. While the subsequent portion of the review does not touch on Cassie and Dog it does touch on a future pairing. The final chapter left a poor taste in my mouth and below is a summation of why it made me put my Kindle away for the night.I am frustrated as all get out by the preview of Lobo's mating. Really, he screwed her mother and is her mate? The primal breed is playing mad scientist. The manipulation in just that chapter made me cringe. How can you really reconcile that Lobo screwed her mother? He can beg all he wants. He can plead all he wants but he played the effing game like everyone else. His mate was collateral damage then. At this point he wants to spare her? At this point in the game he is sorry. I totally buy into the injustice the breeds were and are being dealt. I don't buy into this huge need to screw anything that moves and jeopardize your future happiness. Some of these mates knowingly screwed other women. They knowingly took actions that would hurt their mates. Their reasons (maters) for living were collateral. The resolutions doesn't even come close to touching some of the betrayals they have inflicted.I may not read that story as L. L. has an uphill battle to win this longtime reader. I may skip that book or quit buying the series all together at this point. I have read these books since the start. I have followed them from one publisher to another. As the years have gone by, I have grown. I expect to see growth in my authors. I expect to see further maturity reflected in the stories. The stories have become cookie cutter. Author give me something to really sink my teeth in. Give me a relationship that really reflects a couple that has grown together. Relationships are complex. Love is complex. Yes these are breeds that have been created. They were created with a human component. Show me a breed that can be much more than regretful or sorrowful for all their misdeeds and mistrust. The breeds pair with each other and humans. Show me more than the I am sorry.

Awesome
Book six in the colony books, as a part of the greater picture which is the Interstellar Brides books. This can be read as a standalone but it will mean more if you have read the others. Gwen from Earth was captured and tortured and made part of the Hive. The mortal enemy of the colony and other planets in the coalition. The Colony was a refuge for those outcasts that escaped the hive but were partly integrated, they could never go home. Gwen needed more, she needed to fight, to kill the Hive, and keep her secret. But to so that she had to take a mate. Only one interested her, Makarios Kronos. After the shock wore of Mak knew he needed Gwen as well. Amazing story that follows Gwen and Mak out to get revenge and save the colony, but also see them come together to share their secrets and save the colony and be free, that is their HEA. The flow of this book was great, always something happening and super hot scenes.

💚💚💚💚💚A new level of awesome Vets!💚💚💚💚💚
I have read (and purchased) every book in this universe and even though the Atlans are my favorites (we are introduced to a new Atlan in this book), these colony vets are something special.Gwen is our first unmated female vet on the Colony that is filled with unmated alpha males who, previously, had no chance at finding a mate. You can just imagine the havoc she was causing even though the males would sooner destroy themselves than hurt or dishonor her. Mak is our first Rogue 5 vet on the Colony and as the Rogues were trying to stay out of the Hive fight, he may be are only). He is from the Kronos Legion on Rogue 5 (we previously met Styx and Blade from the Styx Legion in Her Rogue Mates). He is a very different type Rogue and has preferred to keep to himself, his whole life, until the betrayal. Both Gwen and Mak feel the restrictions placed upon them by being on the Colony and are looking to escape but for different reasons.Gwen and Mak are the two most unique characters in the Interstellar Bride universe and the author has given them a story that showcases them at their best. With a supporting cast of returning favorites (Maxim, Ryston, Rezzer, Braun, Kiel, Denzel) and new Atlan Bryck to help continue the fight against the Hive incursion on the Colony, we get to get some more action. We are get to see a new "weapon" that will help the Coalition in its battle with the Hive.I love sci-fi/fantasy books and enjoy story over hot, steamy interludes (of which this book has plenty) and this author and her Interstellar Bride Universe NEVER disappoint. My only complaint is that I read them too quickly but the author is pretty fantastic about releasing a new one almost every month. Now I will sit back and wait for the next book and keep my fingers crossed that it is Braun's or Bryck's story.Even though these books can be read as standalones, I would highly encourage reading them in order and in groups. The Prillon Prime, Atlan, and Colony stories closely follow the war with the Hive, so if you want to follow what is happening with the war read these books in the order they were published. The Viken, Trion, Everis (Virgins), and Rogue 5 books don't have much to do with the War but they each have planetary situations occurring and should be read in groups by Planet.

My favourite in this series
This is my favourite in this series so farAlthough this can be read as a stand-alone, I would recommend that you have read the previous books. There has been a storyline that has thread its way through the series which is resolved in this bookThis has two strong characters, literally. Gwen is forced to make a choice and she chooses Mak. They both have secrets but you learn them one at a time.My favourite character in the series is Gwen. She is ferocious. I would love to see more of Gwen andThe book is worth reading and the author is worth following

Loved it
I loved the story of an enhanced human woman, matching and exceeding the men in strength and the love they found together. I don't want to give any spoilers, but will say that at last the tide may be turning against the hive. If you are a fan of the talented Grace Goodwin, you won't want to miss her latest offering. I just wish she could bring out a book every week.
