X96 Android TV Stick 4GB RAM 32GB ROM 1080P 4K HDR 10 Dual-WiFi 2.4G/5G Bluetooth4.2 Quad Core Android TV Box

I use this exclusively to watch local video files. It works very well for this purpose. My only complaint is that it comes with an IR remote and not a radio wireless remote. You do have to make sure that the sensor is where you can point the remote. It is also one extra cable to take with you when traveling. That is my only complaint. This thing is awesome.

I bought this TV stick to run news TV streaming applications as a cord cutting solution. Some news TV streaming applications such as KTSF26 check if you meet local in-market requirements by using your GPS location (FCC broadcasting restriction). I figure out if I install a fake GPS application (e.g. Hola fake GPS), I can trick the news TV streaming app (e.g. KTSF26) to believe I am in the local in-market. The TV stick can then launch the app to stream local news even if I am outside the restricted broadcasting area.PROS1. Remote controller - it has a handy POWER button, and can toggle mouse pointer / cursor.2. Run a variety of news TV and movie streaming apps in 4K (even for news TV streaming apps with local in-market restriction).3. Support of AirPlay and Miracast - I can mirror my screen with my mobile devices or laptop.4. Responsive customer support.CONS1. I cannot (or I have not figured out a way to) stream UHD or 4K movies on Amazon Prime Video app, even though the movie media is 4K.2. Remote controller - i don't like the mouse pointer (weak user experience). Personally, I like the Fire TV stick remote control better.3. Price point - Compared to Fire TV stick (I bought 4K TV stick for US$25 under promotion), I think their price is less competitive.

This is exactly what I wanted for traveling. Although I love my Amazon 4K Stick, it only has 5GB of Storage. From the time I plugged this in, to loading all of my apps, it was easy- no issues- no wifi drops which sometimes you see with Android TV boxes. Easy to download and add APK's right off the internet with this Android Stick. Now the not so good, as with all Android TV boxes, the remotes are pretty much garbage, so I just bought an air mouse with plug and play USB and problem solved. Worth the investment and buying from Amazon as both EBay and WISH have the same item with the same specs for $15 to $20 more plus shipping!

After plugging in, setting up, and signing in, I was ready to install my video playing apps.I used the convenient "my apps" and "my library" tabs to pick stuff for video watching that I had on my tablet already.All of them were NOT compatible. In fact, nearly every app I use regularly was not compatible. No amazon shopping, no kingdom rush, not even the solitaire game I use to blow time in waiting rooms.Checked to see if the system was old and needing update. Nope, it was up to date, according to device.So, I'm stuck with a $50 android stick that does NOTHING I wish to do... except youtube, but its a part of android itself, so that's no surprise.Your better off using the HDMI out on an old laptop with a battery that can't hold a charge to hook up to your tv, which is what I'll have to go back to.

Wish this was in my sights a long time ago. This has 4gb of RAM and 32gb of rom. That is more than most of sticks. This thing is super smooth and fast. Games and all. Very very great product that you can't go wrong with.

Good hardware, but limited usage because of dismal software. Android 9 is so heavily skinned that it is unrecognizable. Stock rom allows for zero customization, in fact even adding a different launcher does not fix the issue. All the settings are buried and hard to find, some settings are changeable, most are not.If you can live with the fact that it takes way to long to open an app, then all is well (mostly). Most apps I have tried work (some functions are not available on some apps, but if you are patient there are workarounds for apps).The remote is not good so plan on using a Bluetooth keyboard trackball combo (again, like everything else, some keyboard functions are limited, so a workaround app or Tasker will be needed).This device is not a plug and play tool for Grandma.

Fantastic media device, has so many different uses. Have by connected it to monitors with a keyboard and mouse and used remote desktop apps like Splashtop to turn it into a mini thin client and TVs to make an instant smart TV complete with Netflix, Prime Video, Youtube, Google Play Movies, Kodi, VLC, and more. Even used it to stream games using GeForce Now and Shadow! Runs many Android game apps at a beautiful HD resolution. Super versatile!

So I received my x96s Android stick...shipping was fast...item came complete as described...easy to set up. Start up animation was eye catching...home screen set up was ok and functional, but not very exciting...luckily I do not care about glitz or glam...just if the item works...I really bought this as an alternative to a 4k amazon fire stick...processing was quick, ran kodi nicely...did not have a complaint about it the first time I used it...About 3 days later I picked it up for the second time and the stick was dead...tried all the usual attempts at powering it on...nothing worked...sent in my request to return it and have my account credited....printed out the labeling and dropped it off at UPS....really wanted more time with it but was turned off by the product dying so soon...hope this helps.
