MAXON Cinema 4D R20: A Detailed Guide to Modeling, Texturing, Lighting, Rendering, and Animation

This guy has a chain of books each containing parts of the others. It's like he takes a few slices out of his master book and serves it up as a new book but the content is repetitive and not particularly informative.

Excellent reading for those like me who want to learn everything about C4D, for starters and advanced users as well, very useful

Not a huge fan of this book. I've written instructional books myself and with this book I find the instructions are often relayed in a way that's backwards in terms of the order of how you access things. In other words, an instruction is given but only at the end is where to find the menu item is in order to find the thing he's telling you to use. It's also lacking in screenshots of the interface, so it's hard to find what he's talking about tool-wise or feature-wise. Finally, he often gives a shortcut but doesn't say where the menu or tool version of the same function is so he seems to force his personal methodology rather than allowing the user to develop their own methods. There are better books out there.
