Very efficient and simple to use.
Good compact size and very manoeuvrable. Cools very quickly very easy to use. A well designed and thought out product, even the packaging was easy to recycle. Well done Pifco. The only drawback is the fan noise, it could be quieter.

It is not an air conditioner but.....
It does what it says on the tin! I bought this as I needed something to reduce the room temperature in a child's room in hot weather. I didn't want a pipe out a large open window at night with young children who like climbing to look out window. It does lower the room temperature by 4-5 degrees with a blind lowered to cut out afternoon sun. I've found it's more effective if you have the room door open or a small window open a crack and the room temperature will not rocket. Usually in hot weather our childs room temperature is 30+deg but this year it's been 25-26 degrees. I can't say how effective it would be in larger rooms but it's pretty good in a small bedroom. It's certainly not as good at reducing room temperature as an air conditioning unit but it is better than a normal fan. I put in ice packs as well as ice into water. It lasts 12+ hours on medium speed setting which is enough until I get home from work. It's not quiet by any means but it's not annoying either. The only flaw for me are how bright the lights are on the display...there is no option to dim or turn off lights. It's worth the money if your limited on space as it's fairly compact and if you're not keen on windows open at night.

Brilliant Air Cooler.
Asset during heatwave. Made a big difference to the comfort of elderly family member and our dogs during the hot days. Easy to use with a range of Fan Speed and Fan functions. Small and 4 wheels make it easy and stable to use. Quieter and much cheaper to run than air con, and you can have all to windows and doors open. Recommended.

Not too bad, but set your expectations accordingly on the 3 modes based on what I've worked out
Took a punt at this as we don't have the space for an actual aircon unit at the moment. The build is fine and at its highest setting it isn't so loud that it'll give you a headache. The important stuff though. Having played around for a while, here's how I believe you are expected to use the item in the 3 modes it advertises Fan Mode: No water/ice. Just your typical fan in a nice box. Will COLLECT water from the air slowly if the humidity is high enough. Air Cooler Mode: Ice packs in the water tray ONLY. Helps cool the air that the fan pushes out. You could add water, but it'll cause the ice packs to melt quicker, rather than just making the air around them cooler, which will then be drawn up by the fan. This will also collect small amounts of water as air is pulled in through the filter at the back, effectively dehumidifying the air. Humidifying Mode: Water in the tank, ice packs too so it keeps the water colder. The pump draws the water in and saturates the filter at the back, cooling and humidifying the air as it's pulled through and out of the fan. This will create the coldest feeling from the unit, but as they name suggests, it'll make the room more humid, which you may or may not appreciate. There's a reason these are also referred to as "swamp coolers". The above could be wrong, but given that the manuals an images tell you that it can COLLECT up to 5 litres of water, it's important to be aware of when you should, or shouldn't fill the tank, and what it'll do as a result. I think the best cooling, at least for a UK household where I am, is to stack the tray with just ice blocks (freeze water in tupperware boxes) and that should help nicely. More testing required though :)

A great cooler
This air cooler was recommended to me by a friend who bought it from Amazon last year. I needed it to use in my conservatory which gets very hot in the summer. I've found this coolerVERY effective. It really does cool the area much, much better tgan a fan. It oscillates well and is easy to use. I'm very happy with this purchase.

pifco 3 in 1 air cooler, very poor product.....
This 3 in 1 portable air cooler from pifco...is a VERY poor pruduct and not worth anything like over £100,the motor is really noisy and to feel the 'chill' you need to sit no more than 2 foot (24 inches) away from it and that's with the ice packs in the water container as the instruction's showed.my floor standing oscillating fan which cost less than £25 does a much better job,it's even quiet and cool enough on the 1st setting to sleep with it at night when it's hot and sticky.as you can imagine? with a company that is very well established as pifco.....that the product would do what is say's on the box, considering it cost over £100!!! belive me...it's not worth it.

Cools well
Does a good job of cooling the air keeps room cool. Using the humidifier action works like air conditioner only a bit noisier. It’s not as quiet as I’d hoped but you get use to the noise through the night. All in all a good machine. I’ve recommended it to friends who seem keen.
