Thorough and Precise
Modern Hebrew Grammar (Kindle Edition)This book is a gold-mine of knowledge. It was just what I was looking for, indeed, on the Kindle, it seems to be the only one.It is an exhaustive, mammoth and monumental documenting of the grammar of Modern Israeli Hebrew. In addition, it has exercises for every chapter, an answer key, and best of all in my opinion, a truly amazing vocabulary list.Since this is Modern Hebrew, gone are the classical word lists which have instead, thankfully, been replaced by this list. Do you know the words for lawyer, nurse, paratrooper, gas tank and air-conditioner? No? Don't worry - this book has hundreds of words which are hard to find to study, and not only that, but these words are all used in the exercises -- meaning you can learn vocab, grammar, and syntax all at the same time! The way I personally do this is do the exercises, and while I'm doing them make flash cards (either using a program like Anki for computerised study or by hand) with all the new words (careful not to overstretch yourself).Naturally grammar study is dry, and so its probably best to either pair the book with another, like Colloquial Hebrew, or with a conversational class/partner.Regardless, I do not regret buying this book even though it was more expensive than most ebooks. It's indispensable to my Hebrew study.Recommended for those wanting to seriously study Modern Hebrew.

Finally a Hebrew Grammar for modern language students written in plain English.
Finally, a Hebrew Grammar book that doesn't assault student with esoteric English grammatical terms like "Jussive", "Germinate," and Cohortative."This text is very clearly written. The modern Hebrew language student, should find it easy to use and navigate. It has excellent and interesting exercises that use Hebrew as it is spoken today. Some of sample sentences are quite amusing, which helps to keeps the student's attention. I am finding the text very useful in my self-study. Students who are complete beginners, however, might not. The text assumes that the student is already familiar with the language and has some basic Hebrew vocabulary. To summarize: Modern Hebrew Grammar a bit less scholarly and so much more helpful.

An Inciteful Approach to Understanding the Language
This book is most helpful in associating and connecting verb forms, and words that were previously unknown suddenlybecame understood with the knowledge of their roots. However, it gets to be much (heavy and boring) in the presentation of so many variations of verb forms, and I found myself dozing or rushing past the six paolim. At my advanced age, I'm happy to understand basic conjugation: i.e. the present, past, future and conditional. Still, this book is invaluable and certainly worth persevering through again and again - and I will until I get it right!

Perfect for My Purposes
I haven't gotten too far into this... but this is a great add on to other forms of learning, such as Rosetta Stone. It skips all the surplus jargon and jabbering and gets straight to grammar points. It's very concise and goes through several elements of grammar in a very organized way.So, I would use this as an add on. So far, I love how concise they are with grammar. Just what I wanted. If you want modern phrases and common sayings, get a phrase book.

Great book that you can jump around in if you have some familiarity with Hebrew. I have a few years of Biblical Hebrew, so that wasn't a problem. However, I'm using it to learn how to read Hebrew for research and so I wish some of the exercises were translation from Hebrew to English instead of constructing Hebrew phrases. That is my only complaint.

Easy to Follow Hebrew Grammar book
I liked this book because the examples are given in modern and colloquial Hebrew. My only minor complaint is that the font size, while readable, is small for those of us over 40.

Good grammar book
This book is intended to be a Hebrew grammar reference and not a Hebrew course. It serves that function well. I like that it uses nikkud. It covers differences between formal and colloquial usage. My only complaint about the book is that the Hebrew print is so small that it is hard to read.

The BEST!
YES! If you are a serious Hebrew student you need to have it! In a modern way it explains modern Hebrew in an easy way to understand. It has a 2 grammar sections, vocabulary and a self-test section that will take you through all the paragraphs of the book. Wonderful! I have it in my commuter bag everyday now for a month and I have improved a lot only by studying on the train. Don't waste your time, buy it, enjoy it and improve. It is well worth the money.
