Long Tru-Cool LPD Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler 4589 24,000 GVW

The first one I got leaked, the seller quickly sent out another unit. No issues so far with the new one, I think it was a fluke. So far my 3rd gen 4runner's temps are staying nice and low.

Got this cooler in a few days ago and installed it today. It's a nice, solid cooler that I put in to bypass the OEM transmission cooler built into the radiator. This came with the necessary hardware though I installed it with some different hardware, including using nylock nuts vs. the traditional nuts and lockwashers that were supplied. The hose was just long enough for me (1" to spare!). The mounting brackets are good and strong but flexible enough to be shaped as necessary.

Seems to be working very well. Transmission temps do not climb over 170 even when beating on the truck in 95* weather. I have not been able to get readings while towing yet though.

Worked great on my 2011 Tacoma but now it has a leak. I installed it about 1.5 years ago. To me it didn’t last long. Not sure if I’ll buy another one or not since the price has also gone way up since I bought the first one.

Didn’t have a trans temp before I installed it, so I can’t speak on how much more cooler temps are but its visibly larger than stock. Did have to do a lil customization to get it to fit in place of the factory unit. Honestly though for the price just get the 40k for the extra $30.

The one i was sent is leaking. Obviously you have to cut your stock lines in order to install inline with your radiator. They want me to send mine in before they send a replacement, to which i can understand why, but i wont have a vehicle for the next two weeks or so. So i would say stay away from this junk! Supplied hose clamps are complete trash, as they will not tighten fully and strip the screw threads or cave in the band so the worm screw doesn't engage the slots. So when ordering this be aware to go and get better hose clamps so you do not have a line blow off and an expensive failure down the road.

Works awesome, added electric fan and definitely makes a difference

Excellent external for my 06 Hummer H3. Good cooling capacity and fits nicely into the front of the radiator. I may need a fan later, but that's okay it'll work. Very, very hot here in SD and temps are in the 100+ range. I tow a 22ft travel trailer.
