I love PHC
It's hard to NOT like Garrison Keillor, but from the comments, it would appear not everybody likes storytelling. My husband and I enjoyed his radio show from early in his career, but our grown daughter never quite caught the joy and humor of the program. His earlier stuff was just pure, entertaining, comical recollections of his hometown balanced with sometimes sweet and thoughtful sentiment. As he got older, cynicism would occasionally creep in and humor-killing, bitter political comments and show a side I really didn't want to see. However, this album is great fun with several stories I haven't heard before. And even in his older years, if you just want the original Garrison without the heaviness, just skip that story; fortunately they're in the small minority. No matter what your own views are, he's is a great story-teller!

Mother Father Uncle Aunt
If you like Garrison Keillor, you will love this collection. I have a number of collections and CDs by this writer and professional radio man. I listen to some of his stories every night. They help me to unwind before going to sleep. I can't say enough good about all of Keillor's work.

The best of the best
I have many, many Garrison Keillor CDs and this is a new favorite. He's always good, but stongest when taking about family relationships and this CD is all about family relationships -- the good, the bad,and the ugly!

woe is woebegone
The early gentle witty discourses on life and times at Lake Woebegone gave an amusing and skilful picture of life there. Sadly, the narrator, Garrison Keillor, seems to be so much older and tired, and the same ear-catching stories are not repeated. Not worth the importing from the U.S., but significant that this is the only source.
