Works just as expected
This works exactly like I hoped, making a lever door handle “lock” for a toddler but simple and quiet for an adult to open. It requires adult hand strength and coordination to both unlock AND set it to lock, so no worries about toddler accidentally (or intentionally) locking an adult in or out. Positioning was a guessing game, fortunately my first try worked. Nice to have a second one if the adhesive fails or if it’s needed on another door.
