Misunderstood Product
I love my BTM-1. I bought it after a huge price drop. I acknowledge that the original $199 is steep. But! This is actually an amazing Bluetooth speaker. It is much better than most such speakers. So the original price is not so far fetched. I love listening to music through this. As a keyboardist I also wanted to use this as a portable amplifier. And it does a beautiful job of this too. But it’s important that you plug your instrument in the AUX port. Usually the guitar amplifier input works fine for keyboards but on this the dynamics of the keyboard sound create unpleasant sounds when connected to the amp input (unwanted distortion). Connected to the AUX port however and this sounds sweet with a piano or keyboard sound. I’ve used it with the Yamaha PSS-A50 for example and it sounds great!I’ve also seen complaints about the battery life. I don’t use mine a ton. But it’s held its charge for weeks when used a few days apart. I think it’s a great device and has gotten a bad wrap primarily because of the original high price. It should have always been priced lower. Hope this is helpful.

Wish it had usb-c
I love it so far. It has me playing a lot more simply because of the convenience.I agree with the point of it not being loud and clean at the same time, but I don't think that's a huge problem. You can get some decently loud and clean tones with single coil pickups. I like the tone of the drive and the slap back delay.I think it looks wonderful and functions well as intended. My only issue is I wish it had usb-c instead of micro usb.

A Bluetooth Speaker/Practice Amp?
I had high hopes for this as it is a pretty unique product that can act as a bluetooth speaker as well as a small practice amp, but honestly it doesn't do either of those things very well. As a bluetooth speaker it sounds decent enough but perhaps a little too heavy on bass. The main problem here is that it doesn't get very loud. For its size I was expecting a bit more kick but my UE Wonderboom is actually louder. In a small 12x12 room it's not that hard to talk over it and have a conversation with someone. For it's size and price, I was expecting a little more.As a practice amp the volume level issue is even more prominent because there isn't a lot of headroom on this. Perhaps it would work better with a single coil guitar but because I had to boost the gain up high to hear it, my PRS kept getting into grunge overdrive territory. I could never get it to be loud and clean. There's a tone knob on it but I'm not sure you would want to do anything with it other then just leave it at 12 o'clock. Turning it to the left makes the bass very boomy and overwhelming and turning it to the right makes the highs very harsh and tinny. You can get decent tones out of it but it won't be too far off from one of the mini amps you see for around $100 like the NUX Mighty. Considering the company Roland is behind it I was hoping for a bit more than what the other mini amps offer. So if you are looking for a bluetooth speaker at this price point, you would be better off with a JBL Charge or a Bose Soundlink. Or if you can save yourself some money and get a Wonderboom. If you are wanting a practice amp, you would be better off spending a little more and getting a Fender GT.So who is this for? Well I would say if you are wanting something to sit on your desk and always be available for a quick 5 min jam session, this product works for that. But if you are looking for something to be a serious home practice solution, or a really good bluetooth speaker you may want to look elsewhere.

Great for traveling, solo practice & casual music listening and this speaker delivers decent Bass.
As a music veteran with over 40+ years of Hi-Fi and Guitar equipment use, repair and design. I would say that the BTM-1 is designed for portability in mind. This usually limits the designers to make "hard choices" when defining such a product. The BTM-1 plays music with a particular voice that is full, yet not-fatiguing. For Guitar use, the MTM-1 product allows Electric Guitarists to enjoy a battery powered practice amp. At the price point, do not expect super High Fidelity or Amazing Guitar effects. What the BTM-1 does well is to cover both tasks, none of each in any sort of amazing way. For the price point, you will be looking around for a value with similar features, hard to find. Once the user learns the controls, the BTM-1 becomes a small companion for travel and keeping the peace during Guitar practice. The Delay FX and Overdrive FX are not extreme, but get the message across. You get Clean, Delay FX and Overdrive FX using the FX and VOL+, VOL- Controls to toggle between Delay and Overdrive. With the FX Control in the OFF position, the amp is in clean mode. The Guitar is controlled by three Gold knobs and each one is clearly audible when used. In fact, if you listen carefully, these Gold knobs can enhance the Guitar sound even in Clear Mode where the Gain control creates a raspy breakup, and the Level knob allows the Guitarist to scale the size of the sound. All in all for the price you cannot go wrong. I have not yet tried the Aux or Headphone Jacks for very late night sessions. The problem I think can happen is for some shoppers or users to expect more for the price of the BTM-10. I don't see any apples to apples for the BTM-1 as it covers a small niche where users get a Bluetooth Speaker and a Guitar Practice Amp all in one small battery powered very transportable unit. My only complaint are the Gold Controls, they are not easy to read. I would have preferred small Chicken Head knobs that provide the user to see where the knobs are set. The small gold knobs are impossible to see, where they are in their rotation. Other than this we have here, a great small portable Bluetooth Speaker with good sound, passive Bass Radiators and an elegant Classic look reminiscent of the 60's. If you need an amp to use in Public to play for others, I would look elsewhere, But for a small portable Bluetooth speaker music companion, the price is just right.
